Mrs Fox and me have tested positive for covid

Just looking in and see you and Mrs Fox have been seriously unwell. Rest, rest, rest and more rest. Lots of fluid and buy in some snacks to keep you going if you can’t manage to make a meal - fruit and some nuts and cheese… Fingers and toes crossed that you’ll start feeling a lot better very soon. xx

Corrrr… Foxy, that’s a relief that you’ve posted after so many days of silence.

Whatever you do… don’t lie flat on your back, always sleep propped up.
A district nurse told me this years ago and it helps avert pneumonia.

Keep fighting it and get well soon. xx

It’s a relief to hear from you, though I had every confidence you were behind closed doors fighting your way through this. Love and speedy recovery to you both!

Great to hear from OGF…you obviously are right to feel that way. Brings about different emotions…heightened ones. Take the good advice given here, and wish you a speedy recovery…Sadly some get the long Covid like my Son…he is a lot better though for sure…not worrying about him hardly at all now…Good Bless… I learnt that off my precious Dad…Good is Good

I’m glad and relieved you were able to let us know how you’re doing Foxy. We’re all routing for you both.
It’s sad to read those dark thoughts, but understandable with how you’re feeling. At some stage soon that path to getting back to being yourselves again won’t be too far around the corner.

Rest and take care of yourselves xxx

Thanks so much for the good advice and support from everyone. I’m sorry I’ve not been able to look in more often but I’ve been worried about Mrs Fox, and just trying to keep us both fed and watered has been a major task in itself. I was assured by the nurse at the Sheffield Northern General hospital that my MRI scan would be able to take place as booked on Friday the 3rd Sept, personally I wasn’t so sure. It’s a fair drive to Sheffield and I hadn’t even been out of the house for ten days. The nurse did say that it was very important that I attend.

Mrs Fox had been spending most of her time resting in bed, but on Wednesday after sleeping most of the day myself I decided to try a short walk around the block. I realised that if I had any chance of attending my MRI I would need to start moving. I survived the one mile walk, and repeated it on Thursday. Good enough, I thought. Mrs Fox insisted that she came with me, and at 10:00 am we set off. I arrived in good time and found a suitable parking space. I left Mrs Fox snoozing in the car, she was not allowed into the hospital.

They had a few problems with the patient in front of me, and what should have been an hour long scan, turned into a four hour wait…The scan was eventually completed and I returned to the car some four hours later to a sobbing Mrs Fox. After nothing to eat or drink for four hours we drove home and I prepared dinner. It had been a very long day, but it was good to see Mrs fox once again enjoy her dinner. Although very tired, it is the best I have felt for over two weeks, and Mrs fox is also making a good recovery.

So good to see you are now on the road to recovery Foxy!! But, oh my word, that must have been such an ordeal for you both at the hospital, especially for Mrs Fox waiting all that time, with no idea what was going on. (Personally, I’d have been bursting for the loo :face_with_hand_over_mouth:). So glad you both managed the journey, and got home safely to enjoy your dinner.

Onwards and upwards!

Thanks for updating us Bob, and I’m chuffed to see that not only are you feeling better but that your MRI went ahead too.
:+1:
At the end of the day @OldGreyFox you’re still emerging from the other side of what we all realise is a life-threatening condition so it’s quite natural that you’re going to feel more tired and weary than usual as your body needs time to recover.
With C-19 that can sometimes take a long time, but I’m sending you and Mrs OGF my best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Foxy I am glad you feel a bit better, but please continue getting plenty of rest. Poor Mrs Fox! As a diabetic I never go in the car unless I have food and drink , owing to my diabetes, so if you need to take her out again make sure you have something to eat and drink in case you are delayed or get stuck behind a car accident.

So pleased to see you here and that you are both recovering, Bob. :+1:

You certainly had us worried this past couple of weeks :worried:

Please take things easy, the worse thing you can do is push yourself too hard. Take time to rest and get your strength back before you attempt anything strenuous.

Best wishes to you both xx
