Thanks everyone for your good wishes and I’m sorry that I’ve not been able to respond. I’ve never felt this bad for this long before. I would love to reply to everyone individually but I just haven’t got the energy. I haven’t even got the strength to walk to the garden gate…Today is my last day of isolation, but I fear it may be weeks before I will feel strong enough to carry on as normal. It has been an agonising ten days for us, and we have never felt so alone being cooped up and fending for ourselves with just Tesco managing to supply us with food. Our daughter and some neighbours have offered to help, but there is no way we would want to pass this on to anyone else. Even after two heart attacks an army of helpers were close at hand with cooking and cleaning and providing company, something that has been impossible for the last couple of weeks. So far we have both avoided hospital, and after 49 years of being together we shall not die apart, dramatic? maybe, but a situation that seemed a real possibility during some of our darkest hours in what are hopefully behind us now. There is still a long way to go and things can change in an instant, but for now we continue to soldier on…
Praying for you both, Foxy, God Bless and keep you safe,
Blimey, OGF … I’m immensely saddened to hear that you’ve been so ill and isolated - I do hope that you both begin your recovery soon …
@OldGreyFox Hi Bob lovely to hear from you and to know you are ok.
Thank you for the update putting minds at rest .
You are wise not to do anymore than you have to do, sleep is your friend xx.
@OldGreyFox So pleased to hear you are feeling slightly better this is a terrible illness and pleased you are able to let us know you are “upright” Take care and as has been said sleep is your best medicine.
So pleased to hear from you again, much love xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
It’s a relief to hear from you, OGF.
I’m sure we’re all hoping for the best on your behalf.
Thank goodness you are back and doing ok (mostly!) Take it easy for you both, and keep those legs in good nick!
Well Foxy your post has cheered us all up a bit, but I think we all know it will take a while to get you back to normal!
Rest is essential, so make sure you do what you are told for a change.
@OldGreyFox I’m so relieved to hear from you Bob, you had us all worried.
You and Mrs Fox must feel totally exhausted with fighting this virus but it sounds like daylight is beginning to gradually peep through that awful cloud.
It will take a while before either of you will get your strength back, please don’t try to push it, let nature take its course and you will get there. Rest is essential.
Healing vibes to you and your lovely wife, love to you both xx
Hi
So good to hear from you Bob.
You cannot push yourself as covid can affect the heart and a
s you have had two heart attacks already you are vulnerable to this.
Even though you’re feeling rough @OldGreyFox it’s a huge relief to see that you’re still fighting this horrendous virus.
Hang in there, and here’s to you both feeling much better in the near future.
Oh Foxy … it sounds awful. The isolation and ‘aloneness’ aspect must have made it seem so much worse.
Take it easy, take it slow … we’re all sitting here waiting for your return… when you’re ready.
XX
All good wishes for a speedy recovery for you and Mrs Fox from here on in. Keep your chin up and keep moving forwards.
Keep fighting my Foxy friend. Plenty of sleep if you can and lots of fluids. Maybe not alcohol though. We will see you back here when you feel up to it.
I am so happy to hear from you take care now xx
So pleased you’ve managed to come on here and let us know how you’re doing - we’ve all been so worried. I really hope things will start to improve now, but please take it really, really easy Foxy - no heroics! Look after yourself and Mrs Fox and come back and join in when you’re recovered x
So good to hear from you OGF! It’s very difficult struggling with this on your own with both of you so ill. I hope you have someone who can bring you hot soup or other cooked meals so that you don’t have to prepare food on top of everything else. They could just leave it on the porch if you are worried. I wish you both all the best for a return of your strength and energy. x
Glad to hear from you Foxy, it’s been a hard time for you and mrs Foxy, we all wish you well
