Well the plods are well named at the speed of this investigation. What the hell is up with them? possibly a few high ranking officers back handers slowing it down to nothing?
Dame Cressida Dick stepped down before she was investigated ,I wonder why?
Or it could simply be a mixture of what will happen to our titles if we do anything, plus the fact that Basit Javid, brother of MP Sajid Javid, is a Deputy Assistant Commissioner at the met.
This is all very strange. The met can launch a raid on a Russian oligarchs property that has squatters within a few hours. But it takes a month to get to this point. In this alleged investigation into this government scandal.
Perhaps it’s not as important as investigating someone who was PM at the time and lay down the law to the rest of us then laughed at us and partyed while we couldn’t comfort our dying loved ones or go to their funerals
You’re not concerned about the pure hypocrisy of Starmer and co denouncing the PM (which, BTW, his presence at the alleged party hasn’t been confirmed), while doing exactly the same thing himself? I hope that Starmer and his cohorts will be investigated with equal vigour.
But the right-wingers and Johnson fans just use whataboutery about Starmer to muddy the water over the disgusting way their little darling has behaved
There’s no comparison with a Prime Minister who imposed those laws on the rest of us but clearly thought he was above all that and carried on partying and laughing at us while we made huge sacrices and suffered terrible grief
And then he lied to Parliament about it. That’s a serious thing and there should be consequences
I do not give a tinker’s about any of this party-gate malarkey. There are far more important things to confront our future and the quicker they are brought to the fore the better.
Let us cut to the chase. This has nothing to do with having parties, it’s all about trying to unseat Boris Johnson. The opposition can’t bear the fact that he got Brexit done and that they got their arses kicked by an eighty seat majority in the last GE where most of their traditional voter base turned against them and voted Tory for the first time, possibly, in their lives. Starmer and crew, were, and still are, Remainers at heart and would drag us back to EU control in a heartbeat if they ever got back into power (god forbid). The so-called Red Wall, from mainly Leave areas, knew this and so turned their backs on supporting the party.
The opposition (such as it is) can’t get Johnson out via the ballot box, so have to resort to underhand methods to get him to resign.
A reminder of some Tory parties - the police may be aware of more.

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson is in hot water politically over a series of parties and events held while various lockdown restrictions were in place.
The lockdown events reinforce a perception that the ruling party likes to make the rules but not abide by them.
Mr Johnson and his aides have found various explanations for the gatherings, including thinking they were work events, while denying some even occurred.
Here is a list of the restrictions enacted in the UK over the course of the pandemic and how members of the government reportedly broke them.

In outdoor public places, people are only allowed to meet one person outside their household — friends and family cannot meet at each other’s homes, even in the garden — but a full lockdown was relaxed.

But Mr Johnson now says no one told him it was a party and he “categorically” denies knowing about the event beforehand or receiving warnings it breached the rules he had set for the public.

May 17, 2021: restrictions ease
Outdoor mixing is relaxed so that up to 30 people can meet. Indoor social events, including at restaurants, are now allowed for up to six people or two households.
But do you really want a PM with no integrity, who can’t be trusted to behave with decency, and lied to Parliament to cover his own backside, to be the one to lead us through those more important things?
That sound as if it would be a very dangerous thing for our country’s future to me
