No. I like most socks and that includes Argyle. Socks are a protective layer between the feet and shoes, so to me they are an essential piece of kit.
Back to Argyle and there are some inferior types out there, where the pattern is poorly constructed, leaving annoying threads inside the sock to rub and irritate.

Oh my, I can’t think when I last checked out a guys socks, is it a thing?
I don’t think any design would bother me, though.
But now you mention it, do you remember that famous photo of four lads on a night up that became a meme? There wasn’t a lot of sock on display there, perhaps it’s a young people thing?

I cannot stand to be barefoot in shoes, even deck shoes. I find the soles of my feet tend to stick to the inner soles of the shoes and that’s a ghastly feeling. Socks - nothing other than plain black, navy blue, or white sports ones for me.

It doesn’t worry me whether men wear socks, or not. Just so long as I don’t have to look at their feet! Feet … ugh.
