“Us” being the collective for ‘men’ makes no difference at all to the comment made. See amended comment below.
OK if you prefer then start the conversation without ‘Us’ and it means the same.

still doesn’t alter the fact that a generalisation about men is as wrong as it can be when not all men are the same, the same as not all women are the same. Similar might be the better description but very, very different.
