That is why everyone pays council tax which includes the cost of police security .
Majority of policing is paid through the Government, only a small proportion is taken from council tax.

All this whataboutery doesn’t detract from the fact that the security for Price Harry’s wedding was £30 million pounds for one day .
The metropolitan police has extra funding coming from central government .Central government raises money from taxation .

And as a taxpayer I think it’s a very important part and don’t begrudge it at all especially seeing how much money they bring into the country.

Good reasoning Ruthio I also thought she might have ideas to run for President .After all Ronald Reagan was only a B type actor or and he made It. But there is something missing here I don’t think they are clever enough not just for the presidency but generally it must be very hard for Prince Harry he’s not bright but supported by the RF he could shine in various spheres . The army , visiting veterans the Invictus games and so forth . He has his mothers charm when he wants to employ it and could have continued active charity work in Africa for example . As it is he has no real purpose in life he’s alone in a country full of celebs other than playing polo and he’s not that good what can he talk about at dinner parties ?

Books sold are for the benefit of their authors
The DM and Hello magazine do fill their coffers on this - not for the good of the country but because they make money for themselves .
I am sure there are some people anxious to buy souvenirs of the U.K. but it’s not necessarily a mug with the Queens head on it .
Some people buy the fashion they or their children wear . Most do not because they are generally expensive designer brands ,but fair enough I will give you that one although I have never met anyone yet who rushes out to buy a frock because Kate wore it .
I have no idea why they send the royals abroad it’s a complete waste of money as we saw in the recent trip of Kate and William to the Carribean . These former commonwealth countries look on this as a patronising remnant of former colonialism .
That is why although they behaved impeccably they were booed .
Muddy every item sold is making money for the treasury.
It’s not only Commonwealth countries the Royals go to.
Why did the royals attend the G7 summit in Cornwall.

I don’t think so as most souvenirs are made in China .
The POTUS travels to many countries and stays with the head of state whoever that might be or makes his own arrangements if their residences are not up to scratch .
Head of state in this case is the Queen but it need not be . It’s could be President Macron or Mrs Merkel .Buckingham palace does in fact belong to the country it is the residence of the head of state. If we did not have a Queen some other head of state could live there.
As for the G7 summit I see absolutely no reason why Kate and William should have gone at all what could they possibly contribute ?
In fact the entire G7 summit could have been conducted by video link there was no need for an expensive jolly to discuss climate change ,
If getting rid of the Royals keeps the likes of Trump away I’m all for it

Well, I think Lilibet looks a happy and pretty little girl in that pic - but if publishing pics of her just acts as an opportunity to criticise her parents and have a go at the Royal Family as a sideline, then I can see why they don’t want to publish many pics!
Honestly, she’s only a babe in arms - why all the aggression about the article containing her photo - it’s only a baby photo, for goodness sake!

Even if most the souvenirs are made in China, which they’re not by the way, the shops that sell them will also be paying money into the treasury from the money they make from them.
Ask a world leader who they’d rather stay with, The Queen or President Macron or Mrs Merkel.
