Shall we have a tune for the day?
The Show must Go On?
Show me then:mrgreen:
Are you suggesting I start flinging pictures about.
you could try gently passing them at first??
I like this artist. With all the bickering in the world, these words ring true.
I hope you like it guys.
That song cheered me up no end Sweetie, love it, thanks.
I’ve always followed my arrow, never planned anything, a planned life is an endured life in my book.
Character actors, or bread and butter actors as my dear Mother used to call them, (she loved the ‘Flicks’) always had my admiration, they are satisfied just to make a decent living out of show business and still manage to keep their privacy intact, good honest modest workers in the entertainment industry.
I’m a great fan of the new TV station “Talking Pictures”, just right for an old lad like me to enjoy all the oldies all over again. All Countries have their own character actors, obviously most are or were in Hollywood. British cinema had plenty and still have, and Talking Pictures are about to screen several films with Sam Kidd in them, I had to admit I could never have put a face to Sam Kidd until he came up on screen, and like some of you you’ve known him all your life.
Here’s a chap from Hollywood that you all know so well, but I’ll bet not many knew his name.

The quiz was a dive into what used to used to be the class system.
But you all demonstrated that it no longer exists.
I gave up a career in Classical Music, partially because of Class, born to early, maybe.
My problem, not theirs.
I wished she’d stop jumping about I kept getting dust in me eyes and they kept clouding over - was she singin in yankee doodle talk or the queens english??
just finished watching the life and times of Groucho Marx - what a complex life - charlie chaplin once said to him " I envy you because you can speak on your films" !! he went through three wives and countless boxes of cigars!
I refuse to join any club that would have me as a member. Groucho Marx
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it. Groucho Marx Happiness, Happy, One Day
Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, diagnosing it incorrectly and applying the wrong remedies. Groucho Marx
I remember Chico Marx was asked to sign a sanity clause in his contract and he refused saying “You cano fool a me, everybody knows therea is no sanity clause”
That Henry the fifth fella had a good sense of humour, watching the film of the same name last night he gave me a laugh. He’s in his tent in a field having a gargle with his mates before the battle when a messenger breaks in with the latest news.
“The enemy are within 250 paces of your tent m’lord”
“Pray tell young man, who measured the grass?"
I like that remark, so cool under stress.
Must have been terrible for the enlisted men back then, all the big shots were in fancy tents while they had to sleep on the ground, all these battles were fought in open fields in all weathers, if the enemy didn’t get you and hack you to bits then the cold weather would surely finish you off, the only chance you had was to scarper off in the middle of the night and to hell with politics.
Ah yes the old he looks up to me and I look down at him class system, it never really went away though, it just took on different forms, some people will always think they are better than others unfortunately, but we all end up in a box no matter who we think we are, the grim reaper don’t care about your breeding or your bank balance when he calls.
I used to be a humble Fishmonger, yes folks I knew my Plaice, then a Ray of sunshine, Salmon told me I should move up the ladder, seek a higher Perch as it were, I was still young then and the World was my Oyster. So I went into business with a chap who was half Greek, a bit Russian, and a Tad Pole, but it was a disaster, little did I know he was a Shark and I was in over me head.
Hello Possums
I am totally lost on here today.
Can I have a guide, please?
On your, Marx get set and blow.
