I've had my chest x-ray

Yes, definitely- the tumour has shrunk, relieving the pressure on my neck. I also have a walking stick to practise arm movements.

Strange to think that a diagnosis of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome would lead to them finding more cancer. In the end, I could barely dress my upper body and this sped up the MRI and spinal biopsy (which I still don’t know the result of) but I’m pleased about the speed and excellence of the care I got.

Ffosse, It sounds like you have had excellent care… along with good company and great food.
I have noticed a very positive attitude in your posts, on this thread, so please try to hold on to that because it will really help your health to improve.
Good luck!

Well, radiotherapy got done and dusted early today. I’m really looking forward to my own creature comforts tonight… My house needs cleaned but I’ll leave that for later plus I have no food so will order some Chinese.

Sounds like a nice evening. Good to know that the tumour is shrinking. Maybe you can post some of your pics when you’ve settled in?

Chinese sounds good Dreamy.
Do take care at home.
I am just catching up on your posts.

Yes, I will - I took quite a few random pics and will be able to post them once back to my Mac.

Still awaiting discharge letter and medications… seems to take ages.

You must be home now I guess?

It takes longer to get discharged than to get admitted; they’ve moved me to a conservatory whilst they terminal clean my old room, awaiting a new patient.

Goodness, it will be dark soon Dreamy!

t’s dark already. I don’t even know where to get a taxi from when I finally get my discharge letter and meds. Will be lucky to get home by 8.

I hope you came back to let us all know, that you are safe.

I am safe - finally got home at 7pm. The sheer amount of drugs I have to take (including many anti-flu and infection) seems overwhelming. In fact, everything seems a bit too much right now. I put on 9 pounds in weight due to the steroids and can feel it.

Some of the medication (like the steroids is reducing over the next few days), others, like the big bottle of oromorph they gave me looks tempting (only kidding) but I’ve got medications, multiples of the same items too, and it’s just a tomorrow task of sorting everything out. I also got a comprehensive discharge letter from my doctor, detailing all procedures.

I’m a little disappointed that I never got the results of my biopsy, but the Consultant should know next week sometime; I can foresee future visits to haematology, not to try and put a damper on things, but I don’t think I am quite finished there.

I’ll post some pics:

The sun over Arthur’s Seat, Edinburgh just after 7 this morning from my hospital window:

The face garden - not too many animal faces in the Winter, but a nice place for a sit and vape:

My hospital window on the top:

A candid shot of my hospital bed - I think this was before I got my own room:

The radiotherapy unit - very modern and all bells and whistles:

And a few of the animals in the face garden - in the summer it’s a beautiful place:

I am shattered - it was so gruelling, but the posters on here, being able to post from an iPhone and giving me strength through your courage and support has been invaluable.

We will always be here for you Dreamy:lol:
Good pics Thank-you:-)

it’s a relief just to use a keyboard again, and I’ve just discovered that I was due some codeine relief at 8 so will take that now - my memory isn’t bad it’s simple over saturation.

I’ve got a mountain of clothes to wash, have switched on the central heating, my space heater in my living room, and should be finished around 10 which will be approaching my sleep time.

I expect it is. Have you had your Chinese?

It must be good to be back home and in your own bed again.
Well done Ffosse.

Thanks for sharing the pics. Some nice shots. Looks like a good hospital and love the garden with the Meerkats.

Thanks Mups and Sweetie - no, I grabbed a chicken and bacon sandwich, some crisps and an apple so am slowly chomping my way through those.

When I got home, it was 11c in the living room, 12c in the bedroom but my iPad had 66% charge after 10 days. Weird.

Tomorrow, if I’m up to it, a slow walk to the supermarket is in order - I threw out all my perishables before going to the hospital 10 days ago, but have bought milk and I have Alpen for breakfast tomorrow - no more of those sausage and egg, sausage and bacon with muesli and toast breakfasts the hospital does so well.
