I actually enjoyed that post from Robin but was too busy laughing to bother replying. His assertion is that the US generates awe and envy for these reasons:
The US is big. One presume he means the size of the land mass is so tremendous that it inspires envy. How can you be jealous of something you can’t change in your own country? And that means we are all more jealous of Canada. Which seems fair.
Americans have more choice. It is true that when you go into a US supermarket you can be faced with dozens of types of milk. But here in Europe, even in a modest supermarket, there will be one or two of each type of milk. Which is enough. Then we go to the next aisle and find 200 types of cheese - real cheeses. Any one of which is better quality and better taste than all of the plastic cheeses in the US store. Again, not seeing anything to be jealous about.
US stores are big. Guess what - European stores can be big too. There is a supermarket not far from me which is so big that it takes minutes to walk from the fish counter to the bread aisle. The benefit of this size of store is that the fish counter is an awesome display of fish and shellfish. But it is a pain in the proverbial to then have to hike to get bread. There is no benefit here.
US vehicles are big and better. Yes, some cars made in the US are big. But so are some cars made in Europe. Some cars in the US are fast. But for sure many cars in Europe are faster and with better handling. I’d pick a 300 bhp Seat Cupra or Golf GTI over any US muscle car - because they’re better cars. And that is without considering proper European sports cars.
We need a much better list of things in the US to be jealous of. Perhaps the level of corruption in their politics. That certainly is at awesome levels.

The European have shops the size of what we call quick stops or convenient stores. Which come with limited choices. For example, you can hardly find Acorn Squash in Europe but when you do it’s 10 times more expensive. That’s money they could be putting in their gas tanks. 
the number your choices of cheese is the same as a convent store. In our grocery stores as many as 1800 to 2000 different types of cheese can be found. Little country Little choice. We have two Giant grocery store in this small town. One get fresh seafood daily and fresh baked gods every day which are larger the European grocery stores. And the other you can pickup weapons, fishing gear and bait while grocery shopping.
Every time Porsche upped it game the Corvette and Vipers put them in there place. You have to understand that those are straight off the factory line. Same with Cadillac. All three of those compete in European races, straight off the factory line.
Look up the 2026 Ford gt, 2026 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, 2026 Corvette . It understood, little people play with little toys. That’s why they can’t play with the big boys. If you’re not the lead dog in a dog sled, your view doesn’t change.
Most shopping malls closed, JC Penny, Sears, etc. Many strip malls, parking lots with many curbs sit mostly MT now. Home Depot has more space used by Moving trucks. Home Depot work gloves only fit lil women. The treated wood is awful. Prices are outrageous, and putting themselves out of business. The Donald and Biden + Obama and Bush have communized the USA into lines. Taxpayers are learning to stay home. The future Digitized economy, no cash is to come soon.

It is worth noting that this statement reads “shops in Europe are the same size as shops in the US”. I will not disagree with that.
Then you attempt a top trump kids card game “evidence” of the better car. No-one, not one person of any knowledge, would pick dumpster from Ford or Cadillac over a Ferrari or Porsche. If that was the choice. Everyone else would pick a decent German car - like so many people in the US do. Europe makes about 15 million cars a year - 20% (3 million) go the US, plus almost a million made in the US by European companies. The US makes about 12 million cars a year and 9% go to Europe - so 1 million. So a country with 100 million fewer people buys 4 times more cars than it manages to flog to Europe. That looks like a great confirmation that US cars are mostly crap. Even if one or two are capable of going quite fast (in a straight line).
You have to change the wording. You just can’t except the facts. France is equal to a quick stop.
And yet Ford sales more vehicles than Porsche and Ferrari combined. BMW and Mercedes are made in the US.
