These were steps from a canal towpath to the road. Seen better days so much that they have recently been replaced with a nice new set of steps.

The pillars and stones were transported in 1817 from a Roman town in Libya called Leptis Magna. Now located at Virginia Water, Surrey (part of Windsor Great Park).

This is Trig point S6291 on Weighton Wold. Built on 1st June 1954 and last maintained on February 1st 1985. Sadly no longer needed and been struck by a tractor…I don’t think it will be there much longer…

These are just some of the bits and pieces that are in my ‘Handy but never used’ scrap box. They all come off items that I’ve made or taken to bits over the last 57 years. They just looked too useful to throw away. I might find something useful in there just occasionally but all the nuts, bolts and bits in this photo that were once so essential to something or other have seen better days…
