I am introducing a post for your photographs with the theme - Seen Better Days

The photo was taken before the idea of electric vehicles took off, so petrol/diesel.

Watch the last few minutes of that video I posted (that is all I know about the subject) it was towed onto the back of a recovery vehicle and taken to the nearest charging station.

Seen out in the countryside. Burnt out for fun most likely.

Isn’t that how every serious criminal gets rid of the evidence? All the cars used in a recent spate of Sydney gangland shooting are burned

These Teddy Bears have “seen better days” - but they still look cute

And this group of “seniors” look like they’re enjoying their twilight years, sitting round the fire, reminiscing about the old glory days and how everything was so much better then! :joy:

Ahhh, nostalgia!

These were on display at a country house near me - loaned to them by Giles Brandreth from his Collection of old teddy bears.

That vid was well over 2yrs old and H&S situations have changed regarding the safety of staff working on or with all EV’s. Remember, these vehicles have an operating voltage ranging between 400 and 800V.

That looks like a Fascinating read LongDriver, I’m not surprised you’ve kept it

This has to be the definitive book on London’s lost rivers.

Those rivers have certainly seen better days!

I found these in the vicinity of Queenhithe Dock when I had a PLA permit some years ago.
It shows how tobacco became more affordable over the course of time. You can see the broken stem at the bottom embellished with a pike, probably an angler’s themed pipe.
.

We’ll never know who smoked them but It’s safe to say that they’ve seen better days

Coincidentally, I heard someone on TV talking about the Lost Rivers of London last night.
I was unaware until now that there was all these rivers which had been diverted underground so many years ago to enable the land to be built on.

I saw it mentioned on a programme about the history of Buckingham Palace - that it was built on top of the River Tyburn.

Quite
people weren’t quite as well informed in those days.
Smoking tobacco was considered beneficial even to the extent of warding off the pestilence :skull_and_crossbones:

It’s the bloody miasma again
bung up the rabbit holes!

It’s fascinating what’s under our feet, what we can’t see :slightly_smiling_face:

The lazy man’s pipe. If you dropped it you didn’t have to pick it up.
