Thanks for reminding me why I do not live in my birth city. Most days are therefore less than 21 deg. In summer.
But 29 deg - that’s v hot for Aberdeen. I think I also read that the highest over night temperature this year was 18 deg. The city isn’t designed for that…

I don’t want to fall out with anyone, I just got home from the hospital after taking Mrs Fox for a scan and couldn’t do anything in the heat, so I found myself at a loose end.
I decided to vent my spleen on the forum.
Contrary to popular belief, I’m not a tin foil hat wearing lunatic, or even much of a conspiracy theorist, most of the stuff I post is to make people think and to come up with some answers.
They are more ā€˜What If’s’ than facts, and interspersed with some facts gleaned from my old school teachers, books, and google (I know).
And sometimes I’m a grumpy old B’stard…
I’m glad we cleared that up.

However, as I took Mrs Fox to the hospital we passed the ā€˜Town Fields’ a very large grassed area just outside town and I noticed how brown it was, together with the verges and lawns in peoples gardens (not mine though) and thought I’n not seen it as bad as this before.
Even though we have had hotter weather than we are experiencing now, it usually is broken up now and then with some proper rain showers that this year seems to be lacking.

Lembit Opik

Och yer no! I’m the grumpy older Scottish barsteward! Anyway, how is your good lady ?

Lembit Opik is now a proper climatologist? Was that a qualification he studied for during or after his dalliance with the Cheeky Girls? I was not aware that in between his busy schedule of self-promotion he had time to gain any qualifications…

Perhaps not but Judith Curry is.

She’s feeling a bit better today Besoeker thanks for asking, her leg seems to be losing the inflammation and the swelling is going down.

Temperature 130826

Was the temperature yesterday…Phew!

I wonder why they don’t fill fire extinguishers with the CO2 saved in ā€˜Carbon Capture’
and use it to to put out the wild fires…
Perhaps the wild fires have started because we’ve taken all of the CO2 out of the atmosphere and we all know that Oxygen without natures natural fire retardent will cause dry foliage to ignite and burn.

You need to stop corresponding with Ai Foxy, we have trained it but the time has come to stop encouraging It

Probably more to do with swan vesta’s used inappropriately.

I don’t have to go to university and study weather patterns or spend 4 years to get a degree. Even spend hundreds of Ā£s on tutorials.

No! What I do is just look at the sky, and if it look like rain I stick my hand outside the door first to find out if it is or not . Total cost zero. If raining just staying inside with a cup of coffee

Loosen up RS

You don’t need a weather man to know which way the wind blows.

I think you need to read up on Ms Curry. Not the academic with unblemished record that one might expect. Far from it.
