Whenever we went to the seaside my mother brought back a piece of seaweed to hang outside the back door.If it got wet we’d get rain.Although we were in Wales so that was always likely.

One of the advantages of living in a house with a tin roof is that you don’t need to stick your hand out to find out if it is raining, you can hear the rain on the roof.
One of the most disconcerting things when I first went to England from Australia was walking out the front door only to find that it was raining because drizzle on a slate roof a couple of storeys up makes no noise.
I am pleased to report that it didn’t rain at all on my recent visit to the UK
I would expect a statement like that from you Lincs, perhaps you should look at your own record before criticising someone who has spent the best years of her life studying the climate.

I only pointed out that her views are out of step with the majority in her field. Many others, with the right knowledge, have been very critical of Ms Curry. My own comment was simply that you might want to read up on her record - which you clearly do not intend to do.
In your opinion Lincs, in my opinion criticism of man made climate change is gaining momentum. Just a few years ago no one would dare to go against the party line and lose their funding, but now there are lots of climatologists beginning to doubt the forced agenda.

Some scientists might be critical of Ms Curry, but that’s what proper scientists do, unlike the media who jump on any popular bandwagon to be the first to report on something that will keep them in business.
If the reasoning behind man made global warming and the great carbon myth were so sound as you suggest, there would surely be no criticism…
Money and control are behind this latest craze, and most people too busy in their own little netflix and smartphone lives to challenge it.

Fair until you find out that these other scientists are highlighting that Ms Curry’s claims contain flawed calculations and flawed assumptions and flawed / selective data. Which is as close as you get to scientists saying her work is sh*te.

I’ve never heard any other scientists say her work is sh*te, only you, and you are not a scientist.
The same accusations can be made against most other scientists at some point in their careers. Probably by someone who doesn’t agree with their theories. It’s only natural.
I have posted in the past about flaws in the Met offices figures and stats. Readings taken from out of date stations and even non existing stations. Assumptions and probabilities, and forecasts that didn’t come to pass, and lack of forecasts that did…“We don’t have Hurricanes here”…
He’s right though isn’t he…
One thing is for certain Foxy, we don’t need anymore scientists throwing their two penneth in, we probably need the opinions of a few more Theologians, maybe.

The key in the piece you quote is the word “Localised”. It is not the case in the wider atmosphere.
It is why you test the air in a manhole but don’t bother when wandering in a Yorkshire valley.
They would, their jobs are on the line Ref Ai, its nearly September FGS, it gets light late, and dark early, don’t take a weather person to know that!

No, carbon dioxide does not sink to the bottom of low spaces because it is heavier than air. Air currents and the natural mixing of gases keep carbon dioxide evenly mixed, so low spaces only get high CO2 levels if there is a active leak, poor airflow, or decaying material.
Why CO2 Does Not Sink
- Gas Mixing: Air is made of different gases that constantly move and mix together.
- Molecular Motion: Gas molecules bounce around continuously instead of settling by weight.
- Diffusion: Gravity is too weak at normal room temperatures to separate gases like carbon dioxide from nitrogen and oxygen.
When Low Spaces Get High CO2
- Poor Airflow: Stagnant air allows exhaled breath or local emissions to build up near the floor or in pits.
- Heavy Sources: Fermentation in vats, dry ice sublimation, or geological vents can push normal air out because pure CO2 output is cold and dense at first.
- Confined Areas: Basements, silos, and manholes trap gases when there is no fresh air coming in.
