Hammer's odds 'n' ends

You are more than welcome Marian.
Another from Liquid Mind.

Serenity

From the album Liquid Mind VIII: Sleep.

Breathe in Me

I really enjoyed that, George … very relaxing indeed.

Time for reflection with a Russian chant for the period of Lent.
This is once again from the very excellent Moscow Sretensky Monastery Choir.

By the waters of Babylon

Very soothing George

George matey, there was a previous Russian choir led by Serge Jaroff. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kj_yZC6EZtM

A little Mozart to ease into Saturday.

What better way than the second movement from a sublime divertimento.
This is the extremely courageous and incomparable Seiji Ozawa conducting his beloved Saito Kinen Orchestra.
Good to know you are still in there fighting hard Seiji

K136

A favourite lady and very talented Eva Cassidy.
RIP

Fields of Gold

This track is from the album: Magical Spa, and is part of the ‘Feel Good Collection’ by Fridrik Karlsson. I think this one maybe still available as an import.

I have most of this collection and he is an astonishing talent for this type of relaxation and treatment accompanying music.
Of the four tracks on the CD, this is a perhaps a good example of his work.

  1. Heaven
  2. Make a Wish
  3. Eternity
  4. Starlight

Heaven

Very relaxing George, another one I have made a note of

Now that I have put myself to sleep for a while it is time to wake up and have a good old fashioned bop, well at the very least a shuffle.

The Nokia Night Of The Proms back in 1999 and the QUO performing live with a full Orchestra.
Enjoy, they all did.

Time for another kip and thereby slow down from this hectic lifestyle.
This one from the masters, Michael Hoppe and Tim Wheater

Memories In Dark

Enjoyed listening to that George

Glad you liked it Marian, the conductor, Seiji Ozawa, is in my very humble opinion one of the very best and it is just a great shame he has been and still is so ill.

We still have his music to listen to but would much prefer to see him performing again.

Not heard the Pink Floyd one before but best of all was, for me, Status Quo.

I read a while ago about Ozawa being ill with esophageal cancer, that he’s had 7 months of treatment and plans a comeback. Amazing man, and in his mid 70’s (?) too.

A lovely choice Hammer  it is a sad thing that this talented your woman died so young :-(.

I think he will be 77 in September, he has had to cancel some concerts because a few different problems but he is a very resiliant man.

I think I have posted this before but here he is conducting a little Dvorak with Yo Yo Ma and Itzhak Perlman, two others that have overcome great problems.

Humoresque

A quite brilliantly photographed video featuring a few lads and lasses out for an evenings bike ride.

This is the hugely talented Jared Leto and his chums, AKA Thirty Seconds To Mars.

Kings and Queens (The Ride)

The peerless Michael Hoppe.

This Majestic Land

A little more of the Floyd 94 concert oft spoke of by me in such reverential terms. Must not forget to mention the considerable talents of the backing singers, namely, Sam Brown, (yer dad must be proud girl), Claudia Fontaine and the superb Durga McBroom.

Lost in thought and lost in time
While the seeds of life and the seeds of change were planted
Outside the rain fell dark and slow
While I pondered on this dangerous but irresistible pastime

I took a heavenly ride through our silence
I knew the moment had arrived
For killing the past and coming back to life

I took a heavenly ride through our silence
I knew the waiting had begun
And I headed straight…into the shining sun

Coming Back To Life

Wish I was.
