Had my booster jab

@ summer, Yes , l tried asking my GP about transport and it
seems the only way l can get transport is in an ambulance or
in a coffin :frowning::frowning:
I could take a taxi but l resent having to pay at least £30 each way
when Melton should have its own vaccs centre of its own ??
Whe should we have to travel to some tiny village for an injection?
Melton has just under 30,000 inhabitants l doubt if some of
places they are trying to send me to amount to more than
4,000 souls ??
However, l have learnt that there is a shortage of vaccine so
maybe they are going to do pop up centres as and when vaccine
becomes available ??
I just need to know what is happening so l can make my plans !
Melton had a very good vaccs centre for the first two jabs!
Why change something that worked ??
Donkeyman! :frowning::frowning:

Donkeyman…up here if we have to get a taxi to a place for a necessary procedure, we can claim it back off the NHS if we provide a receipt. I would check in your health area if the same applies. :+1: I haven’t done it myself, so beyond that I don’t know…but when I had to go regularly to hospital, that’s what I was advised to do.

@PixieKnuckles , if l ever go to Leicester again pixie l will try
that, thanks !!
I’m giving up on the NHS , l think the doctors are secretly trying
to re- privatise the system ??:grin:

Boots the Chemist, this year launched a service whereby if you pay a fee, you can access a doctor…
I didn’t know that before. Sneaked that in, did they not? This article is from June 2021:

I also had my booster tab last weekend. Down 'ere the Pfizer is (unsurprisingly) called “Pfizer”!!

Husband tomorrow booster in the morning me tests tomorrow mid pm…

I’m going for my booster later today…bit scared here after my last experience but decided to risk it :frowning:

@summer Hi Summer, I have just been hearing that there is a Delta Plus variant now circulating in the UK that is even more transmissible than Delta and as the immunity from the first 2 dose wanes (particularly if you had Astra Zeneca) cases and deaths are rising particularly among those of us who were first to be vaccinated.

I was so scared of having the booster after 9 days of misery after the second dose of AZ when my heart went totally haywire which was really scary.

I need not have worried ,the booster of Pfizer Biontec caused just a mild reaction a bit of aching and I am so glad I decided t have it . The vaccinator advised I go home and take some paracetamol when I told him about the reaction to the second vaccination.
Don’t forget to let your arm hang limp do not tense the muscle when the vaccination goes in and gently massage your arm while you have to wait for 15 minutes if you have the Pfizer vaccine which is the mostly likely because it is found you give better protection from Delta.
Good luck x

Good luck with the Booster, Summer.

As Meg has said, try to relax your arm completely when you have your vac, I’m sure that helps.

Thanks ladies for the advice…my appointment is 3.30pm today so fingers crossed

Good Luck, summer. I am sure you will be fine.

I am going to have my booster Covid injection on Saturday.

My sister and her husband had their Covid booster and flu injection done last Friday. Both were fine after, except for aching arms.

They both had the Pfizer vaccination, even though my sister’s previous Covid vaccinations were AstraZenica.

Alls well so far except for a sore arm and I can cope with that no problem. I had Pfizer too and Astra Zenica last time.

So relieved…so far

@summer That’s good to hear Summer :slightly_smiling_face: try an ice pack on your arm, I always have one ready for such occasions…

Also take things easy in the new house , you need to allow your body time to build up its antibodies…

There seems to be something lagging in the system in my location as I had expected a phone call yesterday and there’s not been on this morning either.
We need our boosters asap.

@LongDriver have you had your second vaccination 6 months ago?
If so you should have some notification of the Booster very soon.

Yes, the 24wks was up a week ago, but no phone call.

My wife and I, had both jabs yesterday at our surgery. For myself, it was the first time for 3 years that I took the Flu Jab.I thought, might as well get get topped up with the lot. This morning I’m aching all over, with both arms quite sore. The boss is not too bad, obviously made of sterner stuff! Just hoping it will all ease over the next few days.

I have just had my flu and covid booster jabs this morning. Pfizer this time after AstraZeneca for my first two.
