Well done Scot, I hope it all goes smoothly for you…
Hi
I cannot have my booster until 17th November.
@LongDriver , Welcome to the club LD , l E mailed my MP last
week asking why Melton has no vac centre of its own? And have
a response saying they are aware of the problem and will contact
me when they have the answer ??
So, still waiting !!
Good luck, Donkeyman!
That will soon come round Swimmy….
Just booked my booster appointment for Tuesday morning - there were not so many options of time or place as there were three weeks ago when I booked for my husband.
Surely it would make sense to vaccinate both of you at the same time. I am 5yrs older than my wife, but we are called together as we are in the same household.
@LongDriver I was told to wait six months before I could get my booster, which I have done., I received a text saying I could book yesterday. My husband is 15 years older than me (he is 90 and suffers from heart failure amongst other ailments so is classed as vulnerable) he had his first two jabs much earlier than I had mine.
So all the more reasons for your immunity to be kept inline with his, but then that would require joined up thinking on behalf of HCP’s
I think it is more of a safety issue as the rules say there needs to be 6 months between the last jab and the booster!
Tried to book boosters for myself & Mr F yesterday as Mr had a text, couldn’t book mine as not had a text so said no will wait so we can both go together as we did for the first two. They tried to tell me I wasn’t eligible yet but we had our second jabs together in early April.
I think you should ring them and check that out Frankie. Mr Mags received a text a month ago and I wasn’t included on it, even though we had the first two vacs together. He phoned them back the next day to say I usually have the vaccine the same time as him and they said that was ok as I was automatically included in the appointment with him.
The latest information is that you can book your booster jab, six months and one week after your second jab. My local vaccination hub has now released dates for walk-ins. Check your vaccination hubs and if they have walk-ins…just go along. And…the reason the covid jab makes your arm ache is because it needs to go into the muscle - unlike many other injections. So an aching arm is normal.
Mags it was a phone call that I made and the person was adamant that I wasn’t eligible. I am leaving it till next week and will call again
Phoned again this morning, half hour waiting and have now booked both our jabs for this Wednesday afternoon.
I’m pleased to hear that Frankie, hope it goes well for both of you.
Just checked ours and its not doing walk in’s it must be booked but only after the NHS contact you, 6 months and one week after the second jab.
My older sister in Derbyshire 76 and her post heart attack husband have yet to be contacted by their GP about the flu and booster vaccinations. My sister is tired of asking.
I had my flu vaccination at the GPs surgery in September and my C19 booster 10 days ago and have since had texts from the NHS and the doctors surgery asking me to book a booster.
It seems the vaccination service is ‘patchy’ and resources being spent unnecessarily in sending alerts to those already vaccinated.
Totally different up here. We get a letter from NHS Scotland with the date and time
of our vaccination appointment. No need to ask your GP or phone for an appointment. I got my booster just over 6 months after my 2nd jab.
@ Frankie, same story as me Frankie , seems they have
centralised the booking process and we have no control locally
anymore?
Once they have ticked all their boxes they are not interested in
your personal circumstances !!
That’s why l ‘e’ mailed my MP about it, but l’m still waiting ?
Donkeyman!
