Good morning all, yep, it is the last day of 2025, we have made it!!!
Roll on 2026 (it usually takes me until about March to remember to write the correct year.)
Same old, same old for me today. Morning walk then called into my PO Box to pick up a package with another camera bag.
Once home again I refitted my awning to my car and checked the small ensuite tent on the other side of the car to see if it was likewise compromised but at the moment it looks OK - probably doesn’t experience the strains of the much longer awning.
What are you doing for New Years Eve?
I am afraid mine will be as dull as usual, will probably turn on the TV at 11.55pm and watch the fireworks in Sydney then back to sleep. The biggest excitement might be this arvo when there is the possibility of a thunderstorm but that will all be gone by midnight.
Anyway, enjoy the start of 2026 even if you decide to sleep through it
Good morning - Cold, foggy and frosty outside at present. Sunshine but still cold later. We won’t be doing anything this evening but I’ll have a brandy at midnight. Probably watch TV and the fireworks.
Happy New Year Everyone, Just off to to take Rosie the cat to our daughters and then off to Scarborough for the New Year festivities. Very nice and sunny outside but frighteningly cold…
Packed my dancin’ shoes but doubt I’ll make it until midnight. I’m sure a stiff Jack Daniels will inject some energy into me…All the best and see you at the other end…
Nothing much planned for today, just pottering
I’ll I’ll make a start on peeling & cooking the large amount of vegetables I bought just before Christmas
I can see myself living off veg stew well into 2026; I’ll let you know how I get on
I used to go out for all the drinking & jollifications on New Year’s Eve, but I haven’t done that for ages, I’m definitely getting old
My flat overlooks a park so I’ll stay in and watch the fireworks
I also have pork pie that needs eating, so I’ll see in New Year with that and a couple of bottles of beer
Love pork pies, Coles has excellent ones, Woollies really crap ones but they only come in once a week.
Being Christmas their deliveries are messed up so I haven’t had one for over a fortnight and am displaying withdrawal symptoms.
I was just thinking about New Years past and remembering the times when I would be woken at stupid o’clock by one of my (older) teenage or 20 something kids needing/begging to be picked up after their New Year celebrations
I like pork pies but I haven’t come across any good ones in our location. Pork pies made in the North are much better. I have family living in Leeds and Barnsley and when they visit, they know to bring a few large pork pies with them.
Its grey and misty outside here on the south coast, not that I’ve been outside yet.
We will probably go out for our meal later today, a sort of mini-New Year celebration and to think about those in the family we lost this year. Other than that, we tend to keep the celebrations low-key, as we don’t go for the big parties or anything. But we will sit up and watch the fireworks on TV, have a drink at midnight and go to bed soon after.
Whatever you’re doing for New Year…enjoy and be safe.
Not a nice day for my neighbour he was rushed into hospital this morning @5am with blood showing with urine and in stools. Diagnosis internal bleeding and trying to find the cause. Also told he will be fitted with a heart pace maker.
don’t know any more at the moment
