yes we also have a few more flowers even though unseasonal. It grows in all directions and needs annual hard pruning.

Yes Ive got a couple of sitting areas that are not overlooked , and I tried to get as many scented Roses as I could .
The bungalows around are now extending into the loft space though so privacy may soon come to an end .

I have had that issue in the past in our Bungalow in Bexhill on Sea…
…Suddenly our only neighbour that was too close for comfort already … built up part of there Garden so high, they now could look over a 6 foot high fence into our Hot Tub…
They had spent over 3 years having almost the entire old bungalow rebuilt. …including the Garden.
It was completely done from scratch, and only one wall was Original in the end.
…They built up the other side, and then to top it all past the Front Extension they got built a huge stone wal, itl blocked out the really friendly neighbour’s light in his bedroom…He just was so so passive and never said one word… but he was upset as much as us.
This is what happened up the same Lane as ours just as we vacated the Country…
The Building will not stop around there…plans for 1200+ properties including a new village and all what goes with that…People’s lovely Gardens, ruined by a signature or two…

They had views of just farmland for decades.

that’s just awful Diane. There should be laws against this but of course they are just building and building and not worrying about people losing daylight and views they have cherished.

Chaenomeles Japonica, has scarlet flowers then red berries sometimes flowering twice and now has the Yellow Quinces.
2nd Plant is a drought resistant Sedum and requires little maintance and pot happy as well.
The Bee’s are enjoying the plant and having their sustenance.

I have this evasive plant all over my garden. It seeded itself, probably from a bird dropping & I thought it pretty so I removed it from the side of the garden & planted it at the bottom since then it’s sprung up everywhere, even in some of my planters on the patio. So yes it is taking over. :grinning:

Thats a shame…guess different environments, it is fine here, I have only had to trim a couple of branches back so far last week in fact. Had this Plant quite a few years now and it took several years to even amount to any good blooms on it…

Well I just looked at it, and can see the Head Gardener, self elected has been around with his axe again…Fig Tree next to it has been culled as well…

This is it before it made others. :grinning: It completely blocked out the shed.

It is pretty.

@ Dianne Woollie, Money talks in UK !! That’s why rural property prices are
approaching London prices !!
Locals born in the area can’t afford to buy local anymore !!
You did well to leave England Dianne !

The Himalayan Honeysuckle, I first bought one in the UK after seeing it at Barbie Keels Animal Sanctuary, and it was in front of a Residential Caravan that one of the main staff lived in with her many cats.

It did give her privacy, she had other winter shrubs as well so she made it into a good screen from the public, that would be passing by her Caravan Door…

Mine is more pink in the middle whilst yours looks almost white in your Photo. The flowers are very unusal for sure.

Well it was not an easy decision for me at the time. my daughter lived just a stone’s throw with Husband and my 1st Grand daughter, who is 19 this December…
Husband was always eager, then his Brother and Wife moved over here…Guess he was a tad envious of that.
Anyway, I made the decision more for him than myself . Soon settled here though, we loved living in Spain on and off, but this was cutting off completely as we sold our UK home this time.
Getting another large Garden was 1st on the list…

Chopped a lot of the Scots Fir down around the base to give us another 16 feet in diameter of lawn back.

Took ages but finally finished at about 8pm, hence the lights in the garden,
