Living in the West of Scotland, the first question I would have asked on a first date some 50+ years ago (and having been born in Northern Ireland) would have been “What school did you go to” thereby establishing the person’s religion. Thankfully of little importance nowadays.

Years ago, my first question was
 ‘What star-sign are you?’
If it was one that l was not compatible with, it put me off and l wouldn’t see them again!

How shallow and trivial of me but l have grown up since then!!

The first one. If it takes off after that, that’s a good sign. If it sinks to the ground, the date is done.

We would have to share the same faith, otherwise we would have nothing in common.

So asking him what faith he was, would be my first question.

I would never date a non- believer
on a “ serious” level.
