Life in country Australia in the '70s.
After the upheaval of WW11, Vietnam War, Womenās Lib and immigration, a father struggles to come to terms with life after his wife left him with two young children.
6/10 from me.
@AnnieS and @Rose2 , you see the same Jack that I have seen over the years!
Terms of Endearment is one of my all time classics, too! I have seen it over seven times, Iām sure! Being the owner of a hair salon for 18 years in my 30s and 40s, I could so relate to Dolly Parton, and her silly quotes. There were so many outstanding lines in that film.
But back to Jack and his facial expressions, well, he says it all without saying anything at all. ![]()
Yes @RightNow, that film has to be one of the best of all time, Shirley McClaine at her best. I dont know how many times Iāve watched it but each and every time itās been impossible to hold back the tears. I think you are referring to Steel Magnolias, Dolly Parton as a hairdresser?
Another tear-jerker, great acting on all parts.
You probably used the word āimmi grationā. I have learned to avoid it.
Yes, Terms of Endearment with Shirley Maclaine was great. Steel Magnolias had so many great actresses, Dolly was one! Thanks for correcting me. Both are wonderful even after multiple times watching them.

It reminds us not to take relationships for granted, and speak up when we feel real emotions. Donāt let the moment pass.
Unhinged. Starring Russell Crowe.
This was a real edge of your seat movie!

The websiteās critical consensus reads, āA sweet swan song for director Roger Michell, The Duke offers a well-acted and engaging dramatization of an entertainingly improbable true story.ā
I enjoyed this film more than I thought I would.
āKnock at the Cabinā
One of those films that if you watch it for more than five minutes you have to see where itās going.
Quite a surprising ending.
