Film - the most recent you have seen?

A Complete Unknown, Bob Dylan biopic. I enjoyed it but didn’t think it portrayed Dylan in a very good light.

I’m pretty sure it was “Ray” - the biography of Ray Charles. Haven’t been to a theater since.

An excellent film called Belfast. 2021
Set in 1969, great soundtrack with 5 Van Morrison songs as well as 9 others.

The film chronicles the life of a working-class Ulster Protestant family from the perspective of their nine-year-old son Buddy during The Troubles in Belfast.
Buddy’s father Pa works overseas in England, while the family—Ma, elder brother Will, and paternal grandparents Granny and Pop—live in Belfast.
Judy Dench is almost unrecognisable behind those black rimmed glasses.
Granny (Judy Dench) has the last word in the film; Go. Go now. Don’t look back. I love you, son.
Such a poignant film. Have a look for it.

I watched this film on YT last night ,called The Conspirator, about the assassination of President Lincoln… I didnt know the full story it was interesting to watch .

The Man Who Would Be King.

This one on new years eve…

A film that you really have to be in the right frame of mind for, very laid back :v:

It has really to be seen in the cinema on a big screen though.

I watched the biggest load of old cobblers ever - Reunion on Netflix.

Definitely worth giving a miss.

The Black Phone.
Horror. Teenage children go missing in a small town via a sadistic killer.

Most of the films I watch are Golden Oldies but I occasionally go to the Everyman Cinema to watch a new film in comfortable and relaxing surroundings.
The last couple of films I saw at the cinema were “Conclave” (2024) about the process of appointing a new Pope - which was an interesting spectacle - and “A Complete Unknown” (2024) about Bob Dylan (which I loved so much, I went to see it twice.)

the last film we saw at the cinema was “The Penguin Lessons” about an English teacher in Argentina during the political upheavals in the 70s. Although the film has many comic moments, it’s also thought provoking, bittersweet and sensitively directed.

I always loved Diane Keaton, Jack Nicholson fantastic too. I saw that film years ago, I remember it was very enjoyable but don’t actually remember what happens, I may just give it another watch.

Yes, that would be something special. I don’t think that’s going to be an opportunity that’s going to arise very often unfortunately

one of my all time favourite go to movies. Two favourite actors - Diane Keaton and Jack Nicholson - a real treat! Edited to add that I can hardly omit the delectable Keanu Reeves. He and Diane apparently had a real life romance after meeting on set.

“As good as it gets” is also really good if you like Jack Nicholson.

Agree, @RightNow and @AnnieS, another great Jack Nicholson film. Yes, he is definitely one of my all-time favorites. Brilliant in Terms of Endearment, too.

I am attempting to post my latest film I watched and when go to post I get the message - Awaiting Approval. What is this shenanigan about?

He’s such a versatile actor and so talented. So fabulous in comedy roles. His face is also so expressive and he has that doglike ability to somehow move his hairline or ears in reaction to a change in a scene.

Apparently he is another actor with OCD in real life and in “As good as it gets” he tried to channel his own life struggles into the character portrayal. (I say another, because Leo Di Caprio has also been vocal about his own OCD.
