I watched Red Sonja last night on TV. Hadn’t seen it before. Bit dated, but I enjoyed it.
Went to my local multi-screen cinema to see “Woman in Gold”. 15 minutes into the film I realised I was in the wrong viewing room. I ended up watching “John Wick”. If you like swearing, shooting, violence, drug taking and noise it was great. Me? I prefer to watch something that doesn’t reflect real life!!!
We’ve just watched Walking On Sunshine. Cheesy - yes. Corney - yes. Great fun and happy - YES. We loved it! We sang alone the whole time, gawd 'help us
Just back from seeing Kenneth Branagh’s Cinderella.
Absolutely beautiful, and amazing special effects.
Really lovely, couldn’t fault it.
Wall E really good Pixar at their best.
Finally got to see the last Hobbit movie, seemed a bit stretched out and did not have the visual impact i was expecting. Seen it all before.
Found a copy of K-PAX in a charity shop, long time since i saw this movie Kevin Spacey is one of my favourite actors, and this film is a heartwarming couple of hours.
I’ve just watched Tony Hancock in The Rebel for about the third time! It’s dated - of course - but some bits still make me laugh. Irene Handel looking at one of his paintings …
“Who’s that?”
“It’s a self portrait.”
“Who of?”
Predestination.
The life of a time-traveling Temporal Agent. On his final assignment, he must pursue the one criminal that has eluded him throughout time.
What came first the chicken or the egg?
An interesting and thought provoking film that was enjoyable to watch but excruciatingly confusing at the same time. Trouble with the movie (as far as I was concerned) is that I realized the plot was horribly flawed (eventually) which rendered the whole thing a total waste of time, for me at least.
All I can say is a woman can’t give birth to herself and flitting back and forth in time ain’t gonna change mother nature - daft.
Watched What We Did On Our Holidays, last night. It’s a lovely film.
Avengers: Age of Ultron. A good action romp and it suits my friends and I because we like escapist entertainment, lol.
I also enjoyed this film though it was a bit unnerving.
Brilliant animation. I drag it out every now and then.
Great film. Matthew McConaughey played the part AND looked the part. Was very surprised how long he lived (Ron Woodroof). The horrible condition got him in the end though.
Court Jester
erm … is that a statement ?
Danny Kaye! My son ADORES his films they’re so clever and funny!
I think Secret Life of Walter Mitty is his favourite, has him in stitches
With Danny Kay? If so I have that on DVD & it’s still hilarious.
The Pirate Fairy (2014)
When Zarina steals Pixie Hollow’s Blue Pixie Dust and flies away, Tinker Bell and her friends sets on a journey to get them back.
Great film.
Lots of humour and excitement.
I’ve seen all of the Tinker Bell movies .
Jamaica Inn (1939)
In Cornwall, around 1800, a young woman discovers that she’s living near a gang of criminals who arrange shipwrecks for profit.
Charles Laughton: Sir Humphrey Pengallan
Maureen O’Hara: Mary - Joss Merlyn’s Niece
Robert Newton: Trehearne
What a film . Some ‘legends’ in this un. The start nearly lost me as the acting was very suspect at first from the nonentities but once the ‘big guns’ appeared on the screen all was well.
I particularly wanted to see Charles Laughton as I haven’t long watched Hobson’s Choice which is a masterpiece in my opinion.
Thoroughly enjoyed the film but mainly because of my observations of Charles Laughton.
Just Before I Go (2014)
On the verge of giving up on life, a guy travels to his hometown to make amends.
In my words:
Seann William Scott heads back to his hometown to put right ‘wrongs’ in his past but the reality is very different to how he imagined.
Seann William Scott
I’ve always liked watching movies with Seann William Scott in them. Wasn’t too sure about spending time watching this movie though as it looked overly sentimental to me. Anyway I gave it a shot and was pleasantly surprised. A film that isn’t hard on the old brain-box, that has plenty of humour and leaves you feeling quite good - well OK-ish.
