Film - the most recent you have seen?

Yes, I saw the trailer for Cinderella when watching Shaunie, and it looks great.

What we did on our holidays. With James Tennant and Billy Connelly. Very funny and poignant. I’d recommend it.

A tale of two films.

Vantage point
,

Dennis Quaid, Forrest Whittiker, Sigourney Weaver, William Hurt.

Described as a political action thriller, events re enacted from several different perspectives. A good idea on paper, but just too busy, far to much in the way of speeding cars got in the way of the characters for me. 4 out of 10

Quartet.

Maggie Smith, Tom Courtney, Billy Connolly, Pauline Collins, Michael Gambon.

Set in a retirement home for professional musicians, gentle stroll through relationships centered around holding gala to provide funds to keep the home open Kind of film we do well think Best Marigold Hotel, also Sheridan Smith and Andrew Sachs. Dustan Hoffman directs 8 out of 10.

Why asap, is the world coming to an end?

Well obviously not, as the post you quote was made over a year ago.

I spose I’m lucky then to be still alive.
But back to my question. Why the rush?

Don’t answer that, I’m just trying to be difficult.

Just watched The Rewrite with Hugh Grant as a washed out screen writer turned teacher. I wasn’t expecting much but in the event it wasn’t that bad. Don’t expect anything too original the premise has been explored before many times but it passed the time pleasantly enough.

Hugh Grant was his usual amiable self from the James Stewart school of acting ie same character every time.

I wouldn’t have minded seeing Kingsmen and will look out for it next time it’s on locally.
My pub/film friends saw ‘Gone Girl’ this week and found it excellent. A long film that wizzed along and kept them engrossed.
I gave it a miss because the plumber had to come and fix a leak, PLUS, I don’t rate Ben Affleck.

Gone Girl is excellent with a horrifying twist at the end

I shall def try to see it when I get the chance

Just got in from seeing Woman In Gold. Absolutely brilliant.
Can’t stand Helen Mirren in her Queenie role, but by heck she’s good in this. It’s really beautiful.
And the very best thing about it? I could understand every word spoken!!!
Her diction was faultless. Thank goodness!

The Imitation Game - Wonderful performances and based on a true story.

Just watched ‘Murial’s Wedding’ again. What a good film it is; Toni Collette was brilliant but frankly, when it came out, I thought she would be a one film wonder, how wrong was that?

Then I saw her in ‘Cosi’ and was sure she was destined for greatness.

And who wouldn’t fall in love with Rachel Griffiths?

Hard to credit that the film is over 20 years old

Ice age 4 continental drift. Brilliantly entertaining fun.

Saw this film today, only went because O/H wanted to see it, but I really enjoyed it. Helen Mirren was splendid, and when the results were announced It was so emotional. A very moving account, and based on a true story.

Black Swan

I know it has been around for a year or so but I have only just caught up with it on DVD. Natalie Portman is breathtaking. The film is described as a psychological drama, so I should have been warned, but I found it quite disturbing.

Barbie a fairy secret

Independence Day, 15-20 years ago at the cinema, was when I got sick of watching highly recommended movies.
To me it just feels like I’ve seen them all, no need to watch any anymore.

Saw the new Cinderella last week in the cinema. It was OK but I still prefer The Slipper & the Rose, Which I have the DVD of & watched a week or so ago, for the 5th time, I adored Richard Chamberlain anyway, back along.

Watched Dallas Buyers Club a couple of days ago. I thought it surprisingly good.
