It’s one of our favourites a real twist at the end, she is fabulous in it too !
Will just go and look it up …
We are just about to go and see ‘how to train your Dragon 2’. Infantile I know, but isn’t that what going to the cinema is all about? Escapism?
Can often be, not always has to be serious. If how to train your dragon 2 is as good as the first one you will have had a great time too
Just looked it up and it sounds so familiar, did I watch to the end though, I don’t know … Did I give up too soon on it - I don’t know … Did I even try it ! I don’t know, I’ll have to buy it and find out !! :-p
If you like Frankie Valli then you’ll like “The Jersey Boys” we saw it a couple of weeks ago.
It is on youtube so you could see it free, not the best quality recording though sadly.
OK thanks Julie …
If you want you can get a fairly good free copy of Half Broken Things from here:
I know because I just did. (I use the place often to get UK serials before they are shown here)
BTW I thought the ending was a bit obvious; too clearly signalled earlier on. However I enjoyed the show.
Well I did enjoy the film, but I was convinced that the ‘baddie’ was voiced by Ian Whatsit (lovejoy) but it was some guy with unpronounceable name.
Watched a few films lately - 2 of which were ‘Fury’ and ‘Love Is the Devil Study for a Portrait of Francis Bacon (1998)’.
Fury is with Brad Pitt and he gives yet another rock solid performance. Good film but rather harrowing as it is all about a tank crew in WW2.
Love Is the Devil Study for a Portrait of Francis Bacon (1998)
Biography of British painter Francis Bacon focuses on his relationship with his lover, George Dyer, a former small time crook.
Interesting as it is about desires and attitudes to relationships.
Exodus with Christian Bale was spectaculer but will be rubbish on the TV screen (Ridley Scott)
What spoiled it for me was the boy betraying GOD !
A major role but rubbish acting
apologies for any naff typos … main computer broken
I live with my 84 year old father and between his massive collection of 30’s-50’s films on dvd and vhs, and my massive collection of dvds, I refer to our collection as ’ Video Vault '.
The last few things we’ve seen lately were : House of Sand and Fog with Ben Kingsley ( love ! ), Dark Waters with Jen Connolly ( meh ), Reservation Rd with Joaquin Phoenix and Mark Ruffalo ( fab ! ), Serpico with Al Pacino ( great, but feels dated )
Flightplan with Jody Foster and Sean Bean. Liked it !
Lost in the Woods, tomorrow we are off to see “Wild”
The Wolf of Wall Street for a second viewing. Very entertaining tale of excesses. Don’t watch if you’re offended by bad language.
Leonardo and Jonah were brilliant in it. I read online someplace that it is the film with the most ‘f’ word useage in film history - I can believe it, every sentence had it 5 times or more !!!
Panic Room with Jody Foster
I just watched ‘What We Did on Our Holidays’, Not bad, a bit silly and sometimes obvious but enjoyable enough. You could see the influence of Outnumbered.
I am beginning to think that Billy Connelly either dies or gets killed in all his movies.
Watched ‘Gone Girl’ a week or so ago and enjoyed it very much, Well worth watching but the ending is horrifying to think about.
This… the story of the Mitford sisters, different time, different place. :-p
