Eileen is unwell

John matey, if I put you in charge of the rum ration - it means you’ll be in charge of ALL the rations and the cooking too - can you handle that???

Marian darlin’ do you have a head for heights??? - can you climb the rigging when the ship is rolling or pitching about??? - if yes, then you’re on.

Yes no problem, I am good with heights and love it when the boat rocks backward and forward… reminds me of being on a fairground ride, I’m up for anything new

Marian darlin’ - you’re on - you’ll be in charge of the Main Mast and sails(the tallest one).

John matey, if I put you in charge of the rum ration - it means you’ll be in charge of ALL the rations and the cooking too - can you handle that???

I’m afraid Capn sir, by the time I’ve had mine, and most of the crew’s rum rations, I’ll not be fit for cooking, more like fit to drop!

Brilliant can’t wait, when do we sail?

…and there was me thinking you were going to captain the Catsey floating van, Uncle Joe!

No news of how Eileen is today…

Catsey Van too small in the North Atlantic this time of year Mags darlin’ - would get swamped in no time in a storm, which is why I’ve changed it to a larger ocean-going vessel. Wanna come and join the crew???

I will volanteer for the woman who lies along the poity bit of the boat, you could lash me to it.

No, no, no Annie darlin’ we don’t need a figure-head, - we need proper crew - since John can’t or won’t undertake the task of cook/storekeeper, how about you taking on this task???

If you need a dogsbody and bottle washer then I’m your man Joe, count me in…

Never was keen on the cook part but what about entertainment
!

should we be in THe Eileen not well Column!

Barry matey, - you’re hired - Storeman/cook!!!

Annie darlin’ - this ain’t no pleasure cruise - we’re off to find Eileen and what’s happened to her - we need sailing crew.

Id like to offer this little boat as a portable tug kennel/cattery as some of the crew will have pets they cant leave. I will run the kennel if you like and feed and exercise the animals

Seeing that the cook, rum ration overseer, etc. has not panned out for me, may I humbly apply for the position of Ships Cat. Knowing Eileen’s love of this said animal, I will endeavour to do my best sir. Unless of course somebody wants to send a real cat. So then the costume will have to go back to the hire shop.

I don’t know the lady because I’m a relative new comer here but it’s obvious she’s a well liked and respected member. I wish her well and hope she’s soon on the mend.

John matey - in 19th Century naval terms the term ‘cat’ did not mean pussy cat, but a rather more prosaic weapon with nine knotted leather thongs on it.

OK then Uncle Joe but dont say I didnt ask.

Annie darlin’ - we need watch-keepers and and strong arms to haul up and down sails. Interested???
