Decided to stay put (rather than move)

'Ere, I’ll have you know I m NOT a smoker, thankyou very much. http://yoursmiles.org/tsmile/disgust/t9412.gif

Oi yerself.
I happen to love trees and greenery around me, that’s one reason I bought this bungalow, but I didn’t know the lazy buggers living nearby would never do any tree maintenance.

I wouldn’t want all the greenery to go, because for one reason, I’d lose a lot of the birds I feed, but neither do I want my property being prised apart.

Useful suggestions only please. . .

Thanks Carmel. It has certainly been an on going headache!

If a tree has a TPO on it you need planning permission to remove it. It will be given if the tree is causing damage etc. I have a couple if dozen trees in my garden and I deliberately had TPOs put on them when a nearish (troublesome) neighbour wanted us to cut some cut down, for no apparent good reason.

I shall probably get a lynch mob after me when the neighbours receive letters from my insurance lot, but it aint my flippin’ fault the property is falling apart at the seams.

know know mups we all hear don’t want YOU falling apart from the seams - QUICK someone call a seamstress!!

Thanks Gummy, just a few nips and tucks here and there should do the trick.

There must be some comfort in knowing you’re not on your own in this, sounds as though your neighbour has a problem, too.
Fingers crossed it is remedied soon.

I think the new lady the other side has, too. :frowning:

Oh well, let’s see what joys the coming weeks bring. :102:

when you want to live in the woods and play little red riding hood you must beware of the big bad wolf or wolves!!

I think some of the problem is Gummy, that people go planting trees in their gardens, without doing any homework on what size they will each at maturity, or planting distances from property. Then to make it worse, they lose interest in doing any care and maintenance.

What I want to know though, is why did previous surveys tell me there were no roots? Don’t make sense, and I don’t know who to believe any more.

oh that’s easy to answer:

  1. they were lying
  2. unable to carry out job correctly

PLUS - could’t give a toss

it’s all around us!

I feel it in my fingers
I feel it in my toes
Trees are all around me
And so the roots they grows

Tree sings

It’s written on the wind
It’s everywhere I go
So if you really love me
Come on and let it show

You know I love you, I always will
My mind’s made up by the way that I feel
There’s no beginning, there’ll be no end
'Cause on my shade you can depend

Thanks a bunch Gummy. Very poetic, but that’s not a whole lot of help!

(but it made me smile. You’re a nutter).

talkin of trees Mups have you got any walnut or conker trees - been trying to go conkers for years!

we are ony trying to cheer you up in your hour of trees!!

Watson bring in the pruning shears!! - mups has found some nuts!

I’m going to give up with you tonight. What you been on?
Going to finish me ironing.

Things Can Only Get Better - Good thing you can’t hear my singing, Mups !!

Thanks cranberry. The more I think about all this though, the more suspicious I am getting. How can previous surveys showed NO roots, and this one shows loads of them? Someone can’t be telling me the truth, but which one?
I am going to have a chat with the Citizens Advice people tomorrow.

I quite liked Roots… thought it was a great TV series

I’m rootin for ya baby by Jelly Roll MOrton!!

You and Nom can bug off. You’re no flippin’ help whatsoever when you’re in this mood!
