Health authorities will conduct a review following reports two men have died after receiving a coronavirus vaccine in New South Wales.
The Federal Department of Health said it would not comment on the individual cases, but itâs reported a man, aged in his 50âs, died at a hospital in Tamworth.
The other man, reportedly in his 70âs, died in Sydney.
Reporting of an adverse event to the Therapeutic Goods Administration post-vaccination did not automatically link the death to the vaccine.
It said a review would assess the likelihood that the vaccine contributed to the event or medical condition that lead to the death.

My sister who lives in Spain had her first injection today. She said she had a mixture of Pfizer and Moderna.
I queried that as l didnât think they mixed the vaccines? She sent me a pic of the card she got and it states PfizerModerna.
Can this be right?
She said, she feels on âa highâ. That is how l felt too when l had my Pfizer.
Iâve never heard of that before, Art, but just found this:
âHealth experts generally agree that the mixing and matching of the vaccines should be safe.
The trial will check for any side-effects or unwanted reactions. Participants will have blood taken to check how well the vaccines trigger an immune response - in the form of antibodies and T cells - to combat Covid.â
I would want to know why I was being experimented on, TBH.

They were probably meant to cross one out when they give her the vaccine Art. You canât mix the actual vaccines. Sounds disorganised.
I know thereâs been talk about maybe the second jabs not being the same as the first if supplies run low, Annie, but certainly never heard of mixing two together in the SAME jab, have you?
I did ask my sister why they were mixed and now sheâs wondering if it meant sheâd get one or the other? She doesnât speak very good Spanish.
She has her second injection on 20th May.

You canât mix the two jabs they are stored at different temperatures. Itâs more like a mix-up.
I think this could be when one vaccine company allows another vaccine company to manufacture their vaccine on licence.
So Art, did you find out if it was an error or her vacc.card?
They were saying on the news yesterday that 500+ people have died of Covid so far, inspite of having both vaccinations 3 weeks previously.
They said the vaccine should have kicked in before that 3wk interval, so they are saying the vaccine did not protect these people.

500 out of 30 million, that works out at 1 per 600,000, not bad odds Iâd say even if it was covid rather than just being a contributing factor.

Hi Mups I think itâs in the Times. Link below but I canât read the whole article as you need to register. It doesnât say they have died just been admitted to hospital with covid. It also doesnât say they had both vaccine doses.
More than 500 people who had been vaccinated against Covid-19 have been admitted to hospital with the infection, a UK study has found.
The patients had all received one dose of the vaccine at least three weeks before they were admitted.Researchers said the patients were largely frail and elderly and the number represented around 1 per cent of the 52,000 people involved in the research.
They also noted the level of âvaccine failureâ detected was not unexpected based on the results of trials that took place before vaccines were rolled out.
Colin Semple, professor of outbreak medicine at Liverpool University and one of the leaders of the study, warned: âPeople should not be surprised about some vaccine failure.

These were definitely people who had died since being vaccinated. I think the number was 547 have died, but not sure now. She also did say they had had both vaccines.
I wish I could find a link, but I canât. It was on the tea time news yesterday.

True Barry, but it does show that the vaccine might not protect you as good as you thought it would, and the figure for entry into hospital having caught the virus prior to having the vaccine is high, considering that only 500 might have caught the virus since being vaccinatedâŠThat would mean everybodyâŠ
All the reports I have seen about dying post-vaccine are about one dose not two. The SAGE study reports 113 died after one dose out of 52k studied.
Possibly not enough data yet about protection after two vaccines. But they are finding that those who had prior infection seem to have enhanced protection with just one dose.
