Covid-19 Vaccinations

I was sorry to read that Summer and Annie, like Mups, have also had a bad reaction to the vaccination.

How rotten for you all. I hope you all feel better very soon.

This post has made me want to cry. I am so, so sorry to know my friend is suffering like this. I want to come and give you a cuddle. Oh Summer, I do hope you start to pick up very soon, I will keep you in my prayers for sure, itā€™s the only way I know how to help.

Take care and give me a call when you feel well enough.

:cry::cry::cry:

Big huge virtual hugs to you my lovely friend xxxxx

Thanks Art. Itā€™s interesting but I felt better today. I thought back to what was different last night and it was that I took an antihistamine before going to bed.

So as a consequence of this brainwave Iā€™ve been reading about Astrazeneca and allergies. The vaccine contains polysorbate 80 which is a listed allergen. I suppose they only worry about anaphylaxis in the vaccine centre but it makes me wonder how long it stays in your body causing a low-level reaction or toxicity.

Annie, Iā€™m so sorry to hear you have been poorly too, I hadnā€™t been following the thread. Get well soon and here are some big virtual (((((((((((hugs)))))))))) for you. Mupsy, some for you too ((((((((((((hugs))))))))))) I hope your ears get better soon. And to anyone else who hasn;t had a good time with the jab, big hugs for you all. xxxxxxx

Aww thanks and hugs back LQ :049: yes Iā€™ve been very unwell too over the last month since the vaccine. Every time you think itā€™s going to be ok it comes back and thwaps you.

Thatā€™s exactly what I found too, Annie.

Thanks for everyoneā€™s good wishes, youā€™re all very kind. :grouphug:

More on polysorbate80 .

I was asked to arrange my second vaccination earlier today (Oxford), and shall be having it next Wednesday at the same place, just up the road.
Very convenient and, as expected, about 11 weeks after the first.
I hope itā€™s as good and uneventful as the first.

Fingers crossed for you JB :023:

Thank you Mags. Youā€™re as kind as ever, though I have no concerns really. :smiley:

I had my second Pfizer jab last Friday and felt OK except for a sore arm until Sunday when I found that my neck glands on the side of the jab had swollen and my arm became very sore again and hot to the touch. I also felt really lethargic with very little energy to do anything. The lethargy lasted a couple of days and the swelling in my glands has now almost receded plus my sore arm is now back to normal.

It was suggested to me that the AZ jab has side effects for the first dose and Pfizer for the second and that women tend to be more likely to suffer side effects than men. I donā€™t know how true that is but for me the first jab only produced a sore arm for about a day and the second jab as Iā€™ve described.

After reading Mups post about the yellow form I have now completed one of those too.

Sorry to see how badly some others on here were affected and hope you will feel much better soon.

Even after the side effects I am glad that I had the jab - if we are to combat this dreadful illness it is up to all of us to do our bit if we possible can.

The main purpose of the glands is to fight infections and remove toxins Margaretā€¦see here:

Quote:

Your lymph nodes, also called lymph glands, play a vital role in your bodyā€™s ability to fight off infections. They function as filters, trapping viruses, bacteria and other causes of illnesses before they can infect other parts of your body. Common areas where you might notice swollen lymph nodes include your neck, under your chin, in your armpits and in your groin.

Thank you OGF - I did google to see whether the gland swelling was a side-effect of the jab and confirmed that it was one of the rarer ones. Itā€™s almost gone now thank goodness.

Iā€™m pleased to hear you are feeling a little better now, Margaretā€¦ :slight_smile:

Thank you Mags - the sunshine helps too! :wink:

Yes, just what we all need to bring our smiles back :smiley:

A lady, l know had her second Astra Zeneca vaccination and she has been suffering with Vertigo.
She doesnā€™t blame the vaccination as she has had Vertigo before.

When I had the jab, I asked if Iā€™d be able to play the piano OK. They said I would. I told them how pleased I was because I couldnā€™t play it before.

:smiley: :wink: :-p

:lol::lol::lol:

Iā€™m going to try that next week!
