Covid-19 Vaccinations

Thanks Zaphod.

So itā€™s got nothing to do with the lockdown or the fact that everyone has to wear a mask in the shops. And with the good weather there are more people getting outside, kids are not attending school andā€¦Nursing homes and residential homes are harder to access than fort knox round here. Iā€™m not saying the vaccine isnā€™t doing a good job of protecting people, but letā€™s not get too carried awayā€¦We all know what the BBC are likeā€¦:009:

Morning Mupsā€¦:039:
We have two jabs Mupsy because like fibreglass, one is the filler and second one is the hardenerā€¦

Morning Foxy :039:

Thanks for that.

Iā€™m pretty sure this is right for the present time. We wonā€™t know how well the vaccine is working until we all start going out and mixing with others as much as we used to do.

So hasnā€™t the lockdown worked this time round mart? And the reduction in deaths and infections is purely down to the vaccines?

I perhaps didnā€™t put it well. Iā€™m saying that I think it is the lockdown rather than the vaccine that is giving the present figure and that we wonā€™t know how well the vaccine is working until we all go out again.

What? Mags AND Ian McKellen?

Why didnā€™t I feel any euphoria?

Iā€™m a little annoyed now. I think I might go back and ask for another one as mine didnā€™t do that.

Thatā€™s a crafty way of getting money from you ā€¦ have you paid them Bob? ;-)

We do things different in this country.

Answers:

  1. (a) Massive resources have been put towards creating a vaccine for Covid. (b) Massive numbers of scientists have worked separately and together to create a vaccine. (c) There has to be a first time for everything!

  2. See a b and c above.

  3. See c above

  4. Yes!

Everything about the vaccine can be assessed on risk. How great is your risk? Are you going to risk NOT having the vaccineā€¦I know the answer to thatā€¦and YOUR risk is lowered by others having the vaccine.

How would it be if we didnā€™t have a vaccine and the numbers of deaths just increased and increasedā€¦

Thatā€™s the alternative - assess that risk!

Ha! Ha! Hell no Mags, what? a Yorkshireman giving money awayā€¦:042:

Why would I have the vaccine Lindy? I wonā€™t be catching the virusā€¦:102:
Apparently my knowledge of how viruses spread will keep me safeā€¦
I only posted the article for the sake of ā€˜Balanceā€™ Lindyā€¦Only a fool would blindly put something in their bodies that they know nothing aboutā€¦Do you know what the side effects will be in say two years time?

:023:

I think Iā€™ll risk it!

What makes you say that JBR? Iā€™m not a risk taker . Are you, generally speaking?

I was being funny! I donā€™t see it as a risk.

I wonder if they will put out a flu vaccine this year?

It normally comes out in April but all you foreigners with your nasty diseases are still banned from entering this land of milk and honey and all returning residents still under going a fortnightā€™s quarantine I wonder what are the chances of anybody catching flu this winter?

Iā€™m not a scientist - are you?
These are the vaccinations Iā€™ve had as a child:
Six x smallpox
Four x Yellowfever
Two x Cholera
Two x TAB

In addition - 28 x 2 Rabies antidote injections; 2 anti-malarial tablets per day x nearly 10 years!

As an adult Iā€™ve had many other vaccinations.

I guess I just donā€™t worship my body as much as you - but I do value my life!

Well said Lindyloo!
I think that around 20 million have now had the vaccination in the UK but, unless everybody does, we will not be free from the dangers of this virus.
There will always be a few who cannot have it, but in the event of any of them catching the virus, there will be more places in hospitals where they can get the best care.
Most of us had the jab to give ourselves a better chance, should we catch Covid, but the vaccine is the first step towards beating Covid! It wont stop us catching the virus, but having antibodies already in our immune system, it will make it easier to recover.

I never had my TB jab, because I didnā€™t want a jab, so I didnā€™t take the letter from school to my parents! How stupid was I? If TB does come back and I catch it, then it will be my own faultā€¦ I wonder how many people will accept responsibility if they catch Covid!:017:
