Covid-19 Vaccinations

Zuleika, l had the vaccination over 6 weeks ago when the weather was awful and snowing. The days were still short!

It started soon after l had the vaccination. It might even be attributed to a much improved (already good) immune system, as your happiness levels can affect your immune system.

Art, are you sure you had your Vac over 6 weeks ago? I had mine 6 weeks ago on 9th Jan

Sorry, it is nearly 5 weeks!
I am not having much luck on this thread, am l? Time flies!
Anyway, what’s a week between friends?

Art ,there is absolutely nothing in the vaccine to provoke a feeling of wellbeing so it’s more of a coincidence imo.Is an individual’s immune system dependent on nature or nurture do you think ?
A comparison might be found by a studying the masses but that’s not going to happen is it?
So many thousands of people now having lost their jobs ,short of money ,dependent on food banks, not being able to pay their bills , shut in their homes for extended periods are definitely not going to achieve the same feelings you’re having I wouldn’t think when their turn for vaccination comes . They will already be “ run down” .

Zuleika, l am sorry but you are generalising and just homing in on selected groups.
I am saying how l reacted to the vaccination. From my history of a reaction to many things, l genuinely felt the reaction l described.
We all react differently to different things and again, this is how l reacted.
You would never have said to the ones that felt dreadful after their vaccination that they were imagining it, that it was all in their mind
it was was due to the bad weather and dark nights.
Bizarre or whatever, l am of sound mind and this was ‘my’ reaction
 we are all different.

You mean you got an immediate “ buzz” ?
Actually I haven’t said it’s all in your mind .Have I ?
Have there been people you know who have felt dreadful ?
But no I wouldn’t have said it was all in their mindbecause they would be describing symptoms. Not least Mups because she had to call an ambulance and got taken off?
If you’re calling what you experienced bizarre I can’t argue with that because I can’t prove it was coincidence .
I never doubted you are of sound mind

If you’ve had bad reactions in the past and thought you may have another bad reaction to the Covid vaccination
you were probably quite nervous about having the jab and wary afterwards, perhaps wondering if a reaction may occur. Then when there was no reaction, you felt massive relief
then maybe the realisation that you’re now unlikely to get a seriously horrible virus that you’d previously felt threatened by. Perhaps that’s accounted for your current high emotions?

Is more or less what I said to Artangel .
We can none of us say how relief from even mild anxiety acts on the mind ?

True, and I can assure anyone that sure wasn’t all in my mind! I don’t think they would strap me to a trolley and rush me off for a CT scan and 2 x ECG’s if it were.

Incidentally, does anyone know why we have to have 2 jabs? We don’t have 2 Flu jabs, do we.

Lindy, I would agree with you about being nervous if l was someone who was scared of needles but because l have a B12 injection every three months, they don’t bother me. Also, my blood group is Rhesus O negative, where when l was pregnant x 5 times I had loads of blood tests to see if my antibodies were ‘attacking’ the baby.

I am not sure why some are not taking me seriously about my ‘unusual’ euphoria after the Covid injection. I have been honest about how l felt and l didn’t imagine it.

Zuleika  Have you had specialised medical training to be able to diagnose how l felt from your armchair?

Yes Miss
Does that help?

Zuleika,

When I had my vaccination I had a sense of relief that I had been vaccinated against a killer virus for us oldies. I do feel that little bit safer now but I’m looking forward to the 2nd jab when I know I will feel much better again.

I wouldn’t go as far as to say it was a feeling of euphoria though, just a great feeling of relief.

Mags, Sir Ian McKellen felt a sense of euphoria after his vaccination.

Did you know there’s cases of ‘vaccine envy’ too?

I M said “It’s a very special day, I feel euphoric,” the 81-year-old actor said. "I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone. I feel very lucky to have had the vaccine”
You gave the impression it was the vaccine giving you a feeling of physical well-being ?
Vaccine envy ? Whatever next? This is what the guy in The Telegraph said “
I’m hardly a key worker so it makes sense that others with vital roles should be ahead of me – but it doesn’t stop me feeling jealous”
No comment ,words fail me on that one Art .

A doctor who incorrectly gave two elderly people in a Queensland aged care home a “higher than the recommended dose” of the COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine will be reported to the federal medical regulator over the error.

An 88-year-old man and a 94-year-old woman were given the incorrect doses yesterday.

When asked how much of the dose was administered Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt said it had been reported that four times the recommended dose had been given but it was still under investigation.

A nurse has been credited with stepping in after a doctor gave two residents of a Queensland aged care home the wrong dose of a coronavirus vaccine.

It seems Covid has multiple symptoms so maybe the vaccine also has various reactions. Perhaps you should mention this to your GP as it may be useful in research.

Got this on my facebook today.

The first data on the #COVID19 vaccine rollout suggests it is having an impact on stopping serious illness.
Data released by Public Health Scotland found that by the fourth week after the first dose of either the Pfizer/BioNTech or Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccines, the risk of being admitted to hospital reduced to 81%.
Meanwhile, Public Health England found that the risk of being admitted to hospital and dying was reduced by over 75% after the first dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine.
