It was a poignant moment, well portrayed by two brilliant actors.
One thing bothering me: would a patient be up and about, and out gallivanting, so soon after an invasive procedure? I’m not an expert in bile duct unblocking, but wouldn’t she have received incisions to the body? Even with keyhole surgery she would suffer a degree of pain and discomfort.
But then again, all soap stars seem to have either a high pain threshold or an incredible ability for recovery.
No incisions, as done by endoscopy, but yes, I think she would not have been quite so bouncy so soon!
Ah, wondered how it was done. Thanks.
Some can be - after I had had part of my thyroid removed, they put an enormous (might be a slight exaggeration there )rigid plastic tube that ran from one side of my throat to the other and made sleeping uncomfortable. However, the evening of the op, I was sitting up eating my dinner and laughing with my visitors, I was up and walking around quite happily and on my way home on the 3rd day after the tube had been removed. I do have a very high pain threshold (so I’ve been told) so that may have something to do with it. My surgeon even wanted to bring a new patient to see me to reassure this patient that the procedure wasn’t as bad as they thought!
I’ve also had minor invasive procedures, similar to Haley’s, and they’re not that big a deal nowadays.
Has Haley had the Op then, I missed fri night first episode but saw the second one. All I remember seeing was Haley waiting in gown to have op, not seeing her after though.
No, I think it was an exploratory procedure - take a sample of the tumour to see if it is malignant or not.
While this story is heartbreakingly well acted and generally so well done I can’t think of one bad thing to say, is anyone else fed up to the back teeth of the evil looks to the camera David does when he comes up with yet another idea to pay back Nick ? I thought we had moved on with character and he had changed from the deranged teen into a maturing father and decent husband but we seem to be back to square one with him again.
I will admit that when David does his evil looks to camera, it makes me laugh; to be fair, given the circumstances, and David’s nature, I’m not surprised he’s going all guns to destroy his brother. Maybe in times of great stress, people revert to type?
The op Hayley had was to unblock the bile duct. The big one is in a few weeks time.
It’s taking far too long to bring Karl to justice, the story has gone off the boil.
Isn’t it just - I hope he’s not going to get away with it and if Paul leaves the show before it get tackled, there’s no-one with any insight to Karl’s activities that night. Not like Corrie to let a baddie get away with it!
Probably will come to a head with Karl soon: it was in the papers that he’s just had his leaving do! Heading for Holby, apparently.
I’m very puzzled by this storyline between Lloyd and Paul - has anyone worked out which direction the producers are going in with this?
As I pointed out before, I was convinced Paul was leaving. So who knows? Very boring, I have to say.
It is boring but after watching tonight, it’s seems that they’re concentrating on over-reacting to racism (given Sophie’s role in it). I hope Paul does leave (although it would have been really nice for Eileen to finally have her dream man!), he’s such a misery guts - shame really, he has a lovely smile.
I seem to remember reading somewhere that Paul is leaving towards the end of this year. I wondered if that’s why they’ve been inventing Eileen’s paranoia with his work, to bump him off in a fire perhaps?
So that’ll be Paul gone, Karl gone, Ken Barlow and Kevin Webster all gone. Looks like they’ll need to bring in some new characters soon.
I wonder how they’ll write Ken and Kevin out on a permanent basis? It would be odd for them both to ‘die’.
How come (apart from the obvious), so many are leaving?
Old ones coming back, Liz McDonald and Todd ( I think) thought it was Liz’s son, but Todd is Eileen’s son, so not sure now which one - or maybe both lol
Oh no - not Liz McDonald - for some reason, she really grates on me. I liked Todd though so I’m glad he’ll be coming back.
Does that mean that Stella is leaving do you think?
