Coronavirus

Ha ha yes Mags, same here…

Hi

The EU is a fact of life, we need to trade with it, whether on a Trade Agreement or WTO Terms.

The UK is not in the driving seat regarding this, simply because so much of our Industry and Financial Services are owned by Foreign Companies.

True Swim, but these Industrial and financial services are not the EU, and I believe they are growing tired of the EU’s involvement and are themselves pushing for free trade for all…

Thanks for that Brucy, my answer using fingers and toes came out
at 1 in 7500 which l interpret as •0075 %??
But either answer is still sod all isnt it??

Donkeyman! ?

This is scary but the reality of what is happening.

Should we have a complete lockdown?

UK death toll just over 10% of cases.

Figures from Bruces link for the UK.

UK 41,903 +3,735 4,313 +708 135 37,455 163 617 64 183,190 2,698

708 deaths puts the Uk right at the top of the corona death table today .

Did post this a couple days ago and some one of you lot did not agree

At the moment ratio of Recovered cases and deaths are at 21%.

Things to come???.

Think so.

Think the % will go up.

I chanced across this website when looking for some other information about the coronavirus.
I found it was interesting to see comparisons with today’s virus to those of the past.
Thinking some of you might also like to see this the link is below if you are interested:

Thanks Baz, a good interesting read…:023:

Me too. Covid 19 has quite a way to go to equal the 1918 epidemic, though, but perhaps the way it’s going who knows?

O might even reach the Black Plague total give it time.

Killed over half the country.:mrgreen::twisted:

I think uk death figures are distorted by the fact that we only test
the people that get taken in for treatment, thereby skewing the
ratio of confirmed cases per deaths by causing a lower number of
confirmed cases to be recorded?
If everybody feeling sick was tested we would have much higher
confirmed cass , thus correcting the death v cases ratio??
This is confirmed by the low number of confirmed cases in the uk
as compared to other countries such a Spain and ltaly!

Donkeyman!

Have thought how other countries are telling us their figures

I dont know if are figures are for people in hospital or people tested who are showing mild signs and told to stay at home.

But either way the death rate is taking off over 10% of thoses infected in the UK are dead.

If you look at the other chart of theses that were having treatment and recovered and or died the death rate is 21%

Thats out of 310k cases

AFAIK Spain and Italy are not testing everyone .
Only Germany is doing mass testing .

No insult intended but IMO you need to give up on posting numbers and percentages. Almost nothing you post makes any sense.
In the case above, I can’t tell what you are attempting to say.
Sorry :frowning:

Dear Assman, awwww! how cute! As I thought, you must have been away the day your school did percentages.

(1/7500) x 100 still equals 0.01333333%

But yours was a valiant effort considering. Good try.

It may be a small percentage but this thing has only just started, it could run for another 18 months or two years before there is a vaccine or herd immunity.

The 1918 pandemic killed about 0.95% of the world’s population but then there were no antibiotics so I wouldn’t be too complacent.

Sorry to say this but you are being overly dramatic and bordering on hysterical.

The Black Plague killed aprox 50 % of Europe’s population.
That is a VERY, VERY LONG WAY FROM THE COVID-19 DEATH RATE OF 3.5 %

Sorry my figures are for the UK and show that the death rate of those people stated who have Co 19 10% have died.

Like it or lump it sonny.

Look at Bruce link for world wide deaths and see the UKs

just in case you missed it.

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/#countries

What I do find odd about the UK we have only listed 135 people who are fully recovered

I am having a very hard time believing the “worldmeters” figures.

On a GLOBAL scale, the % of deaths to total cases is = 5.3%

In the U.S., the death rate is 2.7% compared to total cases

In the UK (according to worldmeters) the death rate is 10%

Something very wrong here.

see Donkeyman’s most recent post. above

Donkeyman’s post has hit the nail on the head.
The UK’s way of counting the total number of cases appears to be terribly skewed.
