Quite absurd - I merely quote the statistics for the countries represented on this forum. All those figures come from the website quoted below the stats. The stats are not a comparison but information, perhaps you should look at them yourself instead of getting hysterical about them - just click on the link below.
In fact I am very much pro American as Australia’s major ally and partner in the ANZUS Treaty, you just seem ridiculously sensitive to any mention of your neighbour. I can’t see how quoting statistics from a US web site is a “bum rap”. I also said that Australia had gone over 3000 cases but you don’t seem to think that is attacking Australia.
I can quote the figures for Mexico if it makes you feel better.
Mexico
Cases 585
Deaths 8
Critical 1
Cases per Million 5
Would you like the Mexico figures included each day?
I was wondering where all the colds and viruses go in the summer, and why?
I know there are still cases of colds and flu in the summer, but the emphasis is always on the winter months. Hence getting vaccinated in October and November.
It can’t be because of the warmer temperatures in summer because if that was the case, why have Italy and Spain suffered so badly. It has long been recognised that vitamin ‘D’ plays a large part in the immune system, and with longer daylight hours and more exposure to the sunshine, could this be the answer…?
In an earlier post by Lindyloo she posted what was supposed to be a list of things you could do to prevent or lessen the effects of Covid19, by a Chinese virologist.
It was thought to be fake news, but the recommendations seemed to me to be quite logical, and one of those recommendations was to expose yourself to sunlight.
Perhaps it wasn’t fake news after all.
This does not explain Italy and Spain though. So how about this…Because of a year round temperate climate, could it be that Italians and the Spanish have never been subject to the greater population suffering from colds and flu as we in the UK have, and thereby not building up a strong resistance to these winter ailments. Just a thought.
This is part of the trouble it has been a hot spring and people especially Madrilenos ( people who live in Madrid ) like to get out and socialise .They like to kiss each other a lot too so do the Italians .
Add that to fanatic desire about going to football matches and hey presto you have just the right conditions for a virus to spread .
We are a bit stand offish ( except in London) so we are a bit behind at the moment .
I think that is a very old graph and only covers Europe. The one I showed from that article is more up to date (2017 or later) and covers all OECD countries, the scale however is per 1000.
It also shows how much further ahead of the west are some Asian countries
You could say that Brucy, as China closes its borders to the world and also offers
assistance to the usa yesterday!!
The times they are a changing??
Donkeyman!
Not strictly true Galty…It said they all work but only 30% of the time…
However, as Spain buys a whopping 640,000 COVID-19 test-kits, hospitals were dismayed when they found out that they don’t work. Although technically, the kits do work, the problem was it only does 30% of the time.
