Coronation Street

I liked ‘Brookside’ and it contained the first lesbian kiss on TV…We’ve come a long way since then, and I found it quite moving, but I’m afraid I have to look away when Billy and Paul snog…
:face_vomiting:

Yes Rose, there are some very unbelievable storylines on the street. Some of them are out of character and very tongue in cheek. That’s the third murder that Stephen has committed, not to mention taking money on Audrey’s house and drugging and gaslighting Carla.
Billy doesn’t show Vicars in a very good light, and Gary has also committed murder that seems to have been forgotten.
And how come Todd has turned into a decent human being, he used to be a right scheming, good for nothing.

Hats off to Benny!

The cobbles seem full of:-
Racists - Murderers - Car Thieves - Liars - Gays - Adulterers - Fraudsters - Alcoholics - Junkies - Terrorists - Gangsters - Arsonists - and unbelievable story lines…I don’ know why I watch it…

Ain’t watched it for years Foxy, used to be some sort of connoisseur :icon_wink:

There was more comedy in the early days and less "issue-driven " stories.

Who’s fault is that?

Granada

It’s not that I am a Connoisseur Spitty, it just happens to be on after I’ve cooked dinner, washed the pots and finally sat down for the evening…And I can’t wait to see Stephen get his comeuppance…

OGF … Me too. Stephen is vile and so creepy. Elaine is so smitten by him that she believes every word he says!

I hope somebody soon finds the body in the car top box that was last seen floating on that pond.

I just feel for Jenny who still thinks that Leo left her and went back to Canada with his Dad…
And what about Audrey when she finds out he claimed Equity Release on her house…
I thought he was going to knock off Owen last night when he had him on his own…
:open_mouth:

Audrey’s been through this kind of thing before - she survived the wicked Richard Hillman trying to make her think she was losing her marbles, then trying to burn her house down with her in it, so he could get his hands on her money - she saw through him and survived his attempts to bump her off, when everyone else thought she’d lost the plot.

I’m surprised she hasn’t seen through Stephen yet - he’s had such a big personality change since the old days and he’s not even convincing now - she must be blinded by a Mother’s love.
Every generation of Audrey’s family seem to be cursed - I don’t think any of them have escaped some kind of big drama or trauma.

And the other lady Stephen’s moved in with - you’d think she’d be a bit more cautious and notice Stephen’s suspicious behaviour, after surviving being the victim of nasty Jeff, the coercive controlling failed magician.

I miss some of the old humorous characters - the Northern humour has been missing lately - folk need a few laughs in the face of adversity.

Ain’t watched it for years, is Stephen worse that Phelan?

Mr. Papogopoulos was one of my favourite characters although you never saw him.Poor old Leonard Swindley had to say his name a lot though.

As bad as Phelan but more creepy and devious.

Yes, as bad as Phelan, Hillman, Bradley and Geoff what’s his face who was married to Yasmin, all rolled into one…

Here’s a few more bad dudes off the cobbles…

Owen is showing his dark side, or a temper, where Stephen is concerned.

I wonder if one bad dude is going to be replaced by another Jazzi…I don’t know how that business survives with lazy gossiping workers and managers syphoning money from company accounts. It looks like Elaine is going to get the chop soon and Stephen getting an insurance windfall…How much longer is he going to get away with it?
When I was having a count up of all the murders that Stephen has commited - Leo, Leo’s Dad, and there was that bloke in the swimming pool…was it Fergus?

These are all new names to me!

It’s all kicking off on the cobbles just lately…Steven is about to get his comeuppance, and has he killed Tim? Sally will be beside herself…
