Good morning all.
Just back from Sainsbury’s with my weekly shopping.
It is not very busy so early.
Yes it is getting quite warm already, took my vest off..
Did you need to know that I wonder?
Now got to think about what has to be done today. I did say think about, don’t mean I shall do it.
Ooh I love bread pudding. Haven’t made it for years though, cos it’s just no good for my waistline . Never used sliced bread though, only day old bread cut in chunks and soaked for an hour in water, before squeezing out and mixing in all the dry ingredients. Hmm, I really want some now!!!
Women claim their work is never done. Maybe that is why they are not paid as much as men
My recipe uses milk, which stays. I don’t eat dried fruit. Instead of all brown sugar, I halve the quantity and add some black treacle. The latter has gone well past its UB date so that will be thrown and I will add a new tin on a shopping list.
Just waiting for it to cook, then will walk Holly.
Good morning all , we had some more rain in the night ,so no need to water ,
I dont have much to do in the garden now , just watch it grow …
I washed my bins out yesterday , thats a job done .
I think i will do some cleaning inside today , then take it easy .
Im pacing my self , no point in over doing things .
Have a wonderful day
Good morning everybody.
It’s my walking day with my friend Chris. I think we might go up to the Chatsworth estate.
it’s beautiful walking country up there and it wouldn’t be complete without a visit to Chatsworth Farm Shop.
Have a good day all…
Morning all, a perfect spring morning here and looks like being another warm day
We are going over to Lincoln later on to look over a house that our niece is hoping to buy, as she needs some advice on whether the changes she will want to make are feasible. It is something that I enjoy doing anyway, but as a thank you she is then going to treat us to lunch in the pub, so a win win day…
Have a pleasant day everyone
Morning all.
Not sure yet what I will get up to.
Good morning all.
Painting. Yes I am going to paint the outside of my so called conservatory. I bought the paint, (Sadlin) a few weeks ago. So it must be done.
Weather here is good so No excuses.
BT have messed up my landline. They have supposedly added a digital something. I have been getting text messages from them this morning asking if all is well. It is not, so I have answer A B C. Etc.
Well here I am on the PC, ready to carry on with my writing. Next door are out the garden, radio on, already, so no sunbathing for me! Holly is out there. She don’t care!
Just getting up to date with social media after the dog walk so hopefully in a few minutes I should be good to go, mug of tea beside me. Might try the speech recognition software.
Morning all, fed up but the sun is shining and warm.
Got Beef Casserole in the oven cooking.
Will sit in the garden and read.
Have a nice day all.
Good morning everybody.
A full day for me today. My half sister & brother are coming down from Cleveland in North Yorkshire. They’re camping at Buxton in the Peaks.
I’m meeting them in Matlock and I’ve planned a nice walk for us from Matlock Bath to Cromford Wharf. About 4 miles in all.
We’ll probably stop for chips on the way there & have a drink in a pub on the way back. Caroline will have her dog Jim with her so we won’t be able to go inside any eating establishments. Good weather predicted - it will be lovely sitting outside.
Needless to say - with my trapped nerve I will be dosing myself to the limit with painkillers. I just want to have a nice pain free day.
Ady is taking Tony out for the day so I don’t have to worry about him…
Have a good day all…
morning all ,
@carol have a nice time out with your family , hope the rain keeps off.
Rained in the night , so the garden looks greener .
my plan today is make a meat pie to pop in the oven earley tomorrow.
Have a wonderful day everyone
Morning all. Another lovely day by the look of things.
Will make a start on my granddaughter’s Platinum Jubilee dress today - it was supposed to be cheap, well started off that way, because after all it won’t be worn that much, will it? But the fabric I initially bought was terrible - it looked OK, but was full of dressing, so felt stiff and scratchy. I pre-washed it to get all the dressing out - 30deg wash for half an hour, using colour liquid and a tablespoon of salt to protect the colour. Hmm, when I took it out of the machine it was seriously faded. It looked washed out and old, and no way could it be used even for a dress that would only be worn a handful of times. So I had to buy more fabric
I think I’ll have enough fabric to make a teeny tiny one for my 6 week old granddaughter as well, so that’ll make the extra cost worthwhile!
Morning all.
Well, I think the storms passed us by but we did have rain overnight, and it’s still looking gloomy out. No idea of the forecast for later. Might go to Morrisons this morning.
Yesterday I spent many hours working on the PC on my creative writing. I didn’t use speech recognition but did have a dvd playing in the corner (minimised both screens), Line of Duty. Having that broke up the monotony, and the silence. A couple of weeks ago, at the writing group meeting, the co-ordinator had asked for suggestions on how we move forward long term. They liked mine, that the five of us give an update of our work on the days we don’t meet (meetings are every fortnight), with our progress and then offering encouragement. So we began on Tuesday, and most of us had something to report. Phew.
Good late morning from me,
We had all the thunder and lightning last night. It really upset Minnie and it was ages until she settled again and I got back to sleep.
It is still very overcast and not sure if it is going to rain again.
I want to finish the painting that I did yesterday, only the door to do. I would have finished but my daughter came and dragged me out to help her collect some things from M&S.
I’ve had a lovely day in Matlock Bath & Cromford.
I met Caroline & Richard & Jim their dog. We had a leisurely walk from Matlock Bath to Cromford - stopping for chips on the way.
Once at Cromford we walked about a mile of the canal before deciding to return.
Back in Matlock Bath we had a nice drink outside the pub, then Caroline & myself looked round the shops while Richard looked after Jim the dog.
Caroline bought a bracelet to add to the six she already had on her arm & a tie dye top. She tends to go for hippy style. We aren’t at all alike in any respect, looks, style, interests etc & she is a 68 year old spinster. I’m domesticated & she’s more like a free spirit… Richard is more domesticated like myself & we had some lovely discussions as we were walking along…
I used the ‘walk it’ app on my phone & was surprised to see I’d walked 5 miles. Feeling very pleased with myself.
It’s been a happy day but feeling shattered now.
Hope it’s ok to post on here at night time. It seems to be just a morning thread - but hey, we can chat anytime I hope…
Morning everyone, sounds a nice day Carol, glad it went well.
No plans for me after a rough night so I’ll just take it as it comes I guess, I just hope nothing of any importance crops up while I feel so ragged…
Have a good day folks
Thanks Barry. They’re my half siblings. I didn’t discover them until I was 30.
Hopefully I will be able to get to Scarborough later in the year so I can meet up with them on their own ground.
I’m very much looking forward to tonight. I’m going to the theatre with my friend Jean to see Dreamboats & Petticoats. I love rock n roll musicals & this one is my favourite.
I booked us 2 end seats so we will be dancing in the aisles…
Have a good day all…
