Good morning everybody.
We had a nice time at Paula’s surprise party last night. Her face was a picture when she walked into the room.
Today we will be resting and recuperating.
Have a good day all…

Morning all, we are planning a walk and picnic today if the weather holds, although it’s just started raining here very lightly it hopefully won’t be much.
Wishing you all a pleasant Sunday
Morning all.
Glad the birthday party went well, Carol.
Barry, good luck with your picnic plans.
Not sure what I shall be doing, or how the weather will go. My app says dry and nice, telly forecast yesterday said rain. Hmmm…
There has been no sign for a few days of the lady tenant of next door. The bloke was there for the second part of yesterday with his girls, so ending my time in the garden. Because of her absence, there is no continual combination of their voices, (and she is mouthy!), it has been quieter. I don’t expect it to last long. (Not seen her car about. Almost always parked outside their house. (Most neighbours here always try to be outside their home, which I don’t understand. I have the concrete blocks right outside so can’t even if I wanted to.)
God morning all.
Yes it does seem to be the party season. Next door they know how to party. External speakers mounted on the wall. Wow !
Good thing I can turn off my hearing aid.
Weather here can’t make up its mind. It was a very light rain first thing, but now stopped and sun trying to show itself.
Nothing yet planed for today, so will just let it happen.
morning all , same here Emjay, Bouncy Castle in the garden and thumping music outside all day , and thats in the road at back of me , I could feel the vibration in my floor .
Ive another busy Sunday helping in someone elses garden , almost done , a trip to garden centre , and a walk .
Have a wonderful day
Morning everyone.
Our 6 year old granddaughter had a sleepover last night, and is currently stretched out on the floor, watching YouTube videos on her iPod - with my headphones plugged in so I’m spared the noise! She came into me just after 7.00 this morning for cuddles - her favourite part of a sleepover . At least now she’s a little older she understands not to come running in and waking me up at an ungodly hour like she used to
She’ll be going swimming with her mum shortly, so then I’ll get on with…er…em… something or other.
Morning folks.
No idea what to do today. Spose that depends on the weather.
Yesterday I had worked long hours on my creative writing. Wish I could say there was a lot to show for it but I am fairly pleased with my progress. As a suggestion to our writing group, I said maybe on the nights we don’t have a meeting (they are every fortnight) we could email or post on FB our progress and give encouragement. They all thought it was a good idea. So I should do some, shouldn’t I?
Good morning all.
I was out early with Minnie as the weather looked as if it was going to rain any time. Well it didn’t yet.
I have someone coming at 10.30 to pick up the cycling helmets that I put on Freecycle. They are no longer required. Was my wife’s and daughters. Nothing else planed yet for today.
Yesterday my neighbour wanted to charge his electric car. He has no drive. So he parked it on my front, and he has the option of connect to the house mains or charger at charge units. So with an extension lead going through his window to the charger and car. The book says that it would take 8 hours from flat. I could see the flashing charge light from my lounge. It took 5.5 hours. Excitement of the day.
good morning all , Lots of rain in the night, two bucket full from dripping gutter ,so ive emptied them in my storage tank which is my green waste bin .
Any green waste now goes in my grey Tip bin , I have very little .
Ive done a chillie Chicken meal and ive got sausage cooking in my oven , getting it done on cheap rate , also done a wash , dog towels .
Dog has got a limp this morning , , she seems to always get front paw problems , must keep an eye on it .
I put two slug traps out last night , after i was given 2 bottles of Lager , I must say , Slugs love Lager, 11 slugs in one trap !!
Im thinking of sowing some sweet william seeds for next year , the ones i sowed last year are almost in flower .They are so easy to grow ,
The seed ive got is a year out of date though , so it may be a waste of time …
Have a wonderful day , weather permitting
Morning all, we had a picnic at Hardwick Hall Lakes yesterday, the sun shone for a few hours and was very pleasant watching the wildlife whilst eating our egg and cress sandwiches, no plans of any importance for today though, so maybe some batch cooking later
Barry, glad you managed your outing.
Eliza, I often wonder about slug traps. What do you do with the ones caught? Hope dog will be ok.
The slugs drown in the beer Jan, so they just go in the bin but what a way to go eh…
yes they drown in the beer trap , well worth doing .Mine will go in the bin .
Ive been to Hardwick Hall ,and walked round the lake some years ago .It gets very busy .
Good morning everybody.
it’s daughter Karen’s birthday today so we will be spending the afternoon at her house.
No other plans.
Have a good day all…
Morning everyone.
While you’ve been trapping slugs @Eliza, I’ve been trapping mice. Well one mouse so far. I saw one in my dining room a couple of days ago, so put a plug in sonic mouse repellent in there, and also ordered a couple of humane mouse traps, which arrived yesterday.
Must say I was very impressed. Some of the traps I looked at online were quite short, and I watched one video which trapped the mouse’s tail in the door as it slammed shut. So the ones I ordered are much longer, no chance of that happening.
And there was the wee timid little beastie in there this morning. We took it up to a woodland walk near our son’s house and let it go.
I shall reset the trap tonight, just in case it wasn’t an isolated incident. My dining room is my sewing room, and is full of fabric - mostly in boxes, but I also have a carrier bag full of scraps, which would make a lovely comfy nest. Now that is something I do not want happening
Staying indoors today, a) because the weather’s horrible, and b) because my daughter texted to say my granddaughter was all sniffly and full of cold this morning, and just wanted to stay in and have cuddles. Well, daughter has to work, so she sent her to school, telling her to tell her teacher if she feels really unwell and they’ll ring me. I wish she’d rung me earlier, I’d have gone round and let her stay home with me. Oh well, she’s probably fine…
morning all , its going to be a hot one today with temps 22c
Ive cooked a pasta bake this morning and put some of the cooked sausages i did in it . Smells yummy.
@Bathsheba have you caught anymore mice .?they are mainly in breeding pairs and can soon multiply.
2 Rats can multiply to 1000 in a year ,quoting a tv programme.
I sowed the Sweet William seeds yesterday so will see how they go.
And i planted up the Nemesia into big pots .
No plans for today …
Have a wonderful day
Morning all, lovely start to the day here.
Off to my daughter’s shortly to look after my granddaughter for the day. Very rare she misses school, but she’s feeling very poorly with a heavy cold and just wants cuddles.
@Eliza I set two traps last night - one in the same place as before and the other in the under stairs cupboard, because that’s where we’ve seen evidence in past years. But thankfully, none caught. I shall leave the traps in place though, not taking any chances!
Morning everyone, a beautiful morning here and the forecast is for hot and dry so I guess spring has arrived…
No plans for the day, just preparing a salad for lunch and pottering about, so hopefully an easy day.
Enjoy the day folks
Good morning everybody.
It’s birthday week in our family. Today we’re meeting granddaughter Kelly in Derby & taking her to lunch.
We’re out with Ady & Paula tonight so I won’t have any cooking at all to do today…
Have a good day all…
Morning all.
Coffee group meet this morning, then I will start on a bread pudding later. I needn’t have got a small Warburtons from the freezer yesterday as I ended up buying a small loaf in M&S. I have a couple of eggs maybe nearing their UB date so seems a good idea to me!
If I have time before leaving I can make a start. Get the bread soaking in the milk, for instance. And gather ingredients first.
