Good morning everyone, just back from our walk, I don’t remember ever seeing the hawthorn with so much blossom as this year, and the scent from them is gorgeous…
Morning all.
Looks lovely, Eliza. My garden is blooming…the honeysuckle and roses, and the enormous shrubs that I want to either trim down drastically or have removed.
Yours looks good too, Barry. I often walk past gardens or wild growths and smell what’s on them.
I have no specific plans for today but soon I will need Morrisons for fresh supplies, and the nearby Lidl, to return an item. See what I end up doing later…
Good morning all.
Yes the much needed rain yesterday filled up my pond, water tubs, and soaked everything else.
I don’t yet know what I shall be doing today, so shall just let it happen.
Morning all, nice and sunny here.
Off out at 7.45am to do our weekly shopping and that’s it, might go for a little walk later or sunbathe.
Have a nice day all.
Good morning all.
It is not so sunny or warm here this morning.
I have to get the unwanted plants spray out shortly. In fact that is going to be my first job.
Later my daughter is going to drag me out again to Costco.
Tomorrow she is dragging me out early to go to the big market at Northweald.
Hi everyone, a pleasant day forecast albeit a pretty blustery westerly one…
No much planned other than picking our daughter up from hospital and taking her home later.
Enjoy your day folks
Has she had the op, Barry? Is she recovering well?
Morning everyone. Looks to be a lovely day here.
Hoping for a relatively quiet day today after my full-on day yesterday:
Got up, had breakfast, had shower, went to local shops to get a couple of ingredients for a meal I wanted to cook for my daughter in law (son is away for a few days and she’s left with a colicky 5 week old and a 10 week old puppy). Came home, made chicken and veg pasta in a creamy pesto sauce for her, enough for 2 days. Had lunch, went round to my daughter’s to feed her dog and let her out, stayed with her for half an hour to keep her company. Then went up to the big Tesco to fill car up, fuel running dangerously low. Straight round to DiL’s with her chicken dish, stayed there, giving her arms a rest while I cuddled the baby, then left there at 2.50 in time to collect my daughter from school, to take her to pick up her daughter. Back to hers for a cuppa and a bit of a chinwag, then back home by 4.30.
So today, I want a lazy day
@Eliza I love your ceanothus - always wanted one, but our garden is not really big enough. @Barry I agree about the Hawthorn - it’s been beautiful this year, the hedgerows are thick with its blossom.
Good morning all , I too noticed the strong smell of may Blossom in the hedgrow and commented on it .My garden is coming alive earley this year , Aquilgia is out and the Foxgloves flowers are just begining to open
Slugs are being a problem with the Cosmos i planted out . , I must set a beer trap , need to beg off someone cause i dont drink .
Good morning everybody.
I think we’ll have the mobility scooter out today & do the three mile round trip to the next village & call in the old thatched roof pub. I think it’s 16th century. Tony will enjoy that.
No other plans but plenty of housework if I feel inclined!
Have a good day all…
Hi @Jazzi yes, thanks for asking, she had her operation yesterday late afternoon and she is hoping to be allowed home this morning after doctor’s rounds, but she’s going to be out of action for a couple of weeks until she recovers her strength I reckon. However, the worst should be behind her now thank goodness.
I wish her a speedy recovery.
Good morning everybody.
I want to get stuck into some ironing today. I never really caught up with it since I had the broken elbow.
I’ll go a walk round the local pond as some point with Tony.
Paula’s surprise birthday party tonight.
Ady has organised a taxi for us so I’ll be able to have a few glasses of wine.
I hope your daughter is recovering well Barry.
Have a good day all…
Good morning all, nice and sunny here.
Off into Town this morning, look around the shops.
Barry, hope your daughter recovers well.
Carol, have a nice evening.
Have a nice day all.
Morning all, looks like being a nice day weatherwise so I really need to do some spraying on the fruit bushes, which have signs of aphids already!
Hope everyone has a good day, and thanks for your all of your good wishes for my daughter, who seems to be doing alright after her operation.
Morning all.
Glad both Carol and Susie are resuming normal activities. Well done ladies.
Barry, hope your D also recovers well.
Brilliant sunshine pouring in through the bedroom window. But I believe there could be thunderstorms later.

Good morning all.
I am being dragged out again shortly to go to the Saturday market.
Nothing else really happening, except the usual Saturday washing being done.
Had a loverly dinner at my daughters yesterday. I do confess that it is the best meal of the week.
Wishing you all the best Barry for your daughters a fast recovery.
Many thanks Emjay, much appreciated…
Afternoon all, late looking in today. I’ve been out this morning, taking granddaughter to her swimming lesson, and then back to their house for a cuppa. Stopped on the way to pick up some party food, so they can celebrate their black Lab’s birthday with a mini party. She was 14 on Wednesday, and my daughter promised her 6 year old they’d celebrate at the weekend
I’ll be round there again later to pick up my granddaughter for a sleepover. Last time she stayed over, when we arrived at our house she said “Does Grandda know I’m coming?” Her face dropped when I said yes, and she said “Don’t tell him next time because I want it to be a secret so I can surprise him”. So I’ve told Mr B I’m off round there to babysit, lol.
I spotted a indoors last night. So I’m going to buy a couple of humane mouse traps to try to catch it. They are flipping quick! Although Mr B did manage to catch one a few years ago in the kitchen - he quickly dropped a plastic waste bin over it, and then thought “now what?”, haha! I found some sturdy card that he slipped underneath, and it was quickly dispatched a long way from home!!
