Chit Chat Thread (Part 2)

Good morning all, still in a lot of pain.
The sun is suppose to be out today.
Nothing planned for the day.
Have a nice day all.

Morning Susie and all to follow.

Sorry to hear you are still in pain. Must be so depressing for you.

Lunchtime today I will go along to the church a good 10-15m walk away for the organist concert. Some of the coffee group ladies should be going too (but I am not sure who or how many, I have advertised it). We meet at about 12.45, 1. Have a hot drink, and concert is for 45m. Long enough for my poor sore botty. That will finish at 2 so the rest of the afternoon is my own.

Good morning good people, dull here again but mild enough for Octoberā€¦

Nothing much planned but I do have the strawberry bed to sort out and pot up a few runners for some hanging baskets next year so may tackle that later.

Crikey Susie I would have done the job for nothing for coffee and sausage rollsā€¦

Have a pleasant day everyone

Good morning all.
It is not to bad here at the present time. Sun is making an appearance from time to time.
I am lucky with Minnie as I can leave her for hours and all she does is sleep.
I expect that my friend will be coming here later, so maybe we could go to Sainsburyā€™s for lunch.
It would seem that I have no option but to have one of these smart meters. I could imagine that they would hike up the estimated gas bill.
I am still going to do some research into the pros and cons of it.

Susie, I thought the idea of smart meters is that you donā€™t have to read them, and if you do the reading is on the gadget readout that you have in your house? We have had one for years with no problem, and if I ever do want or need to check it the numbers are there on the kitchen worktopā€¦:+1:

Morning all.

Coffee morning at the cafe today. Then later I might tackle the spare room again.

I was actually thinking of employing a rubbish clearance company to just come in and take a lot of stuff, boxes and all!

Good morning all, not very nice this morning, its cold, very windy and miserable outside. As per usual nothing planned for me today.

Have a nice day all.

Emjay, I have ordered an indoor cam to put in the bedroom, where she spends her time when I am out, to keep a watchful eye on her. Currys have the one I want, reduced down to Ā£24,99, the Amazon Blink, so ordered it yesterday. Wonā€™t be in till late Tuesday. I have an outdoor Blink, which works well with my BT hub, but the indoor cam I had in London doesnā€™t. Tried it in the rental. I was with another company way back then (London) using any old router.

Realise I have to be careful when I put it, so itā€™s not looking out the window to houses opposite, so it can go on the little table beside the bed, where the smart tv is, and pointing sideways to where she usually lays. I used to open up the app when out and watch her.

Crikey Jan, you must have moved in with loads of stuff you didnā€™t need? :flushed: Good luck with the sort out though, dumping stuff you donā€™t need is really good for the soulā€¦ :grinning:

Morning all, walked the hounds and now contemplating the day which is a blank at the moment, but mostly something turns up.

Have a pleasant day everyone

Good morning! Having just found this thread I was trundling through the posts and saw this one so thought I would reply. :grinning:

@Jazzi Where I live there are quite a few people who hire skips for garden clearance and also when having new kitchens, bathrooms etc. I am thinking of doing the same as I have one side of the back garden to clear, including an old garden shed and a couple of broken fence panels. Completely at random I checked out the costs involved to find it seems to be less expensive to hire the skips than get someone in to clear it all. Possibly this could be as there is labour to pay for if getting someone in. Prices might vary from area to area I guess but you might be interested in the links below:

Good afternoon all.
I did not come here earlier as I had some early chores to do and I forgot.
I am on cat duty this weekend for my daughter and after I did this morningā€™s one, I went and picked up my friend who is here with me now.
As usual I already did the weekly laundry, cooked another load of apples, with the help of my friend.
Just had lunch of bacon and scrambled eggs sandwiches.
No we are going to continue to watch a film, ( donā€™t laugh) ā€˜Itā€™s a mad mad mad mad worldā€™. Not seen it for ages and was a joint decision.

@Emjay I remember going to see that film at the cinema in the sixties sometime, canā€™t remember much about it now other than it was a search for lost treasure of some sort? I seem to think that Mickey Rooney was in it amongst many others, and that it was Jimmy Durante that ā€œkicked the bucketā€ literallyā€¦

Morning all.

Yes Barry, I did have a lot of crap brought with me, and should have disposed of it all back in London. I also have more here now, especially since having two huge light fittings taken down, and the old stair hand rail (handily sawn in half, and left out in the garden).

I have thought of getting a skip but we jostle for parking space here. I could maybe get a hippo bag which might fit in between the boulders outside my home, but guy next door has rubbish in his front garden and I worry heā€™ll put it in the bag/skip Iā€™ve paid for.

Morning Jan and all later, looks like being a nice day here although with a cool northerly we shouldnā€™t get overheatedā€¦

Just a family day at my sisterā€™s today so nothing else planned. Rosemary is making a pavlova for a dessert with raspberries from the garden, yum yumā€¦

Yes it is a problem with skips that people tend to think they are public property and sneak their own stuff in overnight. Is there a local reputable ā€œman with a vanā€ you could pay to take the stuff to the tip for you, anything fit for the charity shop?

Have a pleasant Sunday everyone

Good morning all, it started off nice and sunny, now its cloudy and very cold.
Nothing planned.
Oh I do wish the day that I can go out and walk about around the shops.
Have a nice day all.

Yes Barry, got some stuff ready for charity, and not sure of a man with a van licensed for waste. But there are some companies, which may be a bit costlier. Shall get some people in for quotes, maybe.

Good late morning again.
As usual I had to do the daughters cat, and then dropped off my friend at her flat.
Came home and picked up the fallen apples and put them in the compost bin.
Also gave a spray to the unwanted plants on the paving.
Chicken for lunch with lots of veggies.

Good morning all, no sun yet, maybe it will be out later.
Off out early to do our weekly shopping with the Aid of a Trolley and a Husband.
Nothing else planned for the day.
Have a nice Bank Holiday Monday.

Morning everyone, cool and overcast here again and no sun forecast, but we live in hopes.

Nothing much planned, just a lazy day ahead but hey, it is a holiday dayā€¦

Have a pleasant day folks

Morning all.

Back from dog walk, and can now finish breakfast (cuppa and tablets).

Tip run tomorrow (booked a slot) so need to make a concerted effort with the spare room.
