Chit Chat Thread (Part 2)

Good morning all, no sun but windy.

Off out to Gorleston about 9am, look around the shops.

Chinese takeaway tonight.

Have a nice day all.

Good morning everybody.

I’ve got the plumber coming today to complete the central heating that he started a month ago.
Don’t quite know how I’m going to greet him after all the disputes we’ve had over money and his wife ranting at me down the phone demanding payment for a job that wasn’t completed.

Suppose I’ll just have to smile & pour tea & biscuits down his throat or he might not do us a good job.

Have a good day all

Overcast, cold, and could rain so they said. Typical weather for a funeral that I have to go to this afternoon. My mates wife.

a walk in the woods and a couple of photos from that , the meat pie went down well with my visitor.
I also bathed the dog .

Morning all.

Condolences to your friend, Emjay.

Window cleaner will be here some time this morning, so I will shortly walk Holly so we are back ready. I have to open my back gate. No way will I go out, leaving it open.

Yesterday I switched on the pc to do my homework for writing group, did that, then opened up one of my stories, still in its infancy, and found myself having the enthusiasm to continue working on it. I even stayed up till 10.30. I had taken Holly out earlier in the evening, put Grace on to record, carried on with the writing, Holly took herself off to bed, and she didn’t get a late outing, even into the garden.

Depends on when the w/c turns up and finishes, as to what I will end up doing. Still want to visit a garden centre, but it is a little drive out, maybe 20-30 minutes. (I must time it, when I go.)

Carol, as I mentioned elsewhere, I greet my noisy neighbours through gritted teeth, friendly on the surface, resentment oozing deep inside. I don’t want to fall out with them, but they do make it hard! Maybe treat your plumber similarly. Be friendly to him, get the job done, and then don’t use or recommend him ever again.

Morning everyone. It’s looking to be a lovely day today, which I’m pleased about as it’s back to school/work day for my daughter and the grandchildren - miserable after two weeks off if it’s a wet soggy morning.

Going down to Next in a while to pick up little showerproof coat I ordered online for my granddaughter, then on the way back I will go in the co-op to drop off an Amazon return parcel for Hermes. Keep forgetting to do it, had it ready to go for a week now!

I have a feeling Mr B will want to go IKEA to pick up the last remaining piece of furniture that we couldn’t fit in the car on Saturday. We were going to get it all delivered, but they charge £30!!! And as all of it bar this one piece fitted in the boot of my car, we figured it was cheaper to drive the 30 miles there and back again to get the last piece (without daughter and granddaughter in the car we can put the seats down to accommodate it).

@carol good luck with the plumber - yes, a steady flow of tea and biscuits, together with a firmly fixed smile should hopefully get the job finished at last, and then you’ll never have to speak to him or his witch of a wife again

That’s exactly what I am doing jazzi, but I can go one better. I got him from a site called ‘My Builder’ & they expect customers to leave a review to help other potential customers. My review won’t be very complimentary!

Carol, how is it going? Any easier to cope with?

Hi Jazzi

It’s been a stressful day. The plumber came & brought his dad with him who is also a plumber but works for the council. I was civil to them both & gave them cups of tea & biscuits. I didn’t talk to Sam much only about the job connected stuff.

Tony & I kept out of their way. We worked in the garden & then went to Wetherspoons in our nearby town so it wasn’t so bad.

We now have full central heating & a new electric fire where the old gas fire was. It’s all working ok. However - it looks horrendous with copper pipes going all the way down the walls in two rooms & all round the skirting board in the lounge.

I am going to look for somebody who can box the pipes in for me. Hopefully it will look better if they’re boxed in.

I was really looking forward to posting a review of him & his gobby wife on the review in ‘My Builder’ but have decided not to give a review at all. If something goes wrong I will need to call him so I think a bad review is probably not a good idea.

I’m just pleased to be rid of him.

Goodnight everybody.

Morning all.

Glad the boiler is done Carol, now you need to find a Carpenter to get them boxed in.

Might go to the Boot sale this morning.

Have a nice day all.

Morning all ,
Im awaiting more plants , I think they are arriving today.
Yesterday a delivery of All purpose Granual Feed for the garden arrived , the container it was in had split and half the contents was in the delivery box .
I managed to get all of it out the box , and cellotaped the container .It was obvious it was like that when it was put in the Box.

Have a great day

Morning all.

Good news Carol, but shame about more expense for boxing in.

Eliza, what packing material did they use? Hope it wasn’t the foam ‘nuts’. Can you imagine the job of separating packaging from the contents?

Gotta dash.

Good morning all.
Just back from Sainsbury’s with my weekly shop.
The funeral that was supposed to have been yesterday is today. I got a message saying that the wrong date was sent. It was sent early so no disruption.
Hopefully all works well with the boiler and things Carol.
Weather here. Blue sky and lots of vitamin D being sent from the warm sun.

Morning all. Thank heavens your heating is all sorted now @carol, it’s been a flipping long time!

Well we did go back up to IKEA yesterday to get the remaining piece of furniture. There are still some doors to get, but they won’t be in stock until some time in May, and we didn’t want to wait till then to get the piece of furniture because, knowing our luck, that would have been out of stock by then .

Off out for an eye test shortly, long overdue because of Covid. I’m pretty sure I’ll need new glasses, but even if they say my sight hasn’t changed. I’ll still buy some new ones because I’m sick and tired of the ones I’ve been wearing for the past 3 years.

Then round to see my daughter’s dog, to walk her and feed her, back home for a bit before heading off to pick daughter up from her school to go and get her daughter from school! And then I have to read the next chapter of granddaughter’s book to her (I promised to read this daily while mumma is getting dinner).

Good morning all.
Overcast and cold in my part of the country.
Going to Morrison’s chemist shortly to pick up my prescriptions, then later, 12-1 going to the cake and company group. It is being held in a local pub as the place that we usually meet, the Labour Party rooms, are in use for the local coming elections.
Also got to repot some more of my daughters seedlings. The peppers this time.

Morning folks.

A hopefully lazy day for me. Had another bad night with stomach pains (which thankfully have eased) but couldn’t sleep for hours. Stayed in bed this morning listening to kids next door and father shouting at them, till about 8.15, and got up.

morning all,
@Jazzi the granuals had emptied on Bubble wrap , so was able to recover them .

Another grey start here same as yesterday , but the sun shone through eventualy and hopefully today will be the same .

have a good day everyone

Good morning everybody.

I’ll be painting inside the airing cupboard today. It’s had one coat but could do with another.

Daughter Sue calling to see us this afternoon.

I decided to leave a review on’ my builder’ about the shoddy work done by my plumber.
I’m now waiting for the sh** to hit the fan.

Sorry to hear about your pain Jazzi. Hope it gets better soon.

Have a good day all

Morning all, not a very nice day, dull and cloudy, although I think the sun is trying to come out.
I see no one has started the morning thread, I would but its such a palaver making a new thread.
Not going out today.
Janet hope the pain eases up for you.
Have a nice day all.

Morning Afternoon all. Just back from the hairdresser, which will be the last time I go there. The owner has decided to close it, and she’s not selling as a going concern, instead she’s converting the building back into the house it once was. She has a lot of irons in different fires, and it was all just getting too much. So my usual hairdresser, a lovely young girl who’s done my hair for the last 3 years, is moving to a salon literally just up the road from me, but only for one day a week. She’ll also be doing mobile hairdressing for 3 days. I’ve already booked in with her in 2 months time at the new salon.

Then I drove down to Next to change a pair of trousers I bought a couple of days ago, because I’d picked up the wrong size. Inevitably I ended up buying another pair as well . But in my defence, I did really need them, and they’re so comfortable.

@Jazzi sorry to hear you’ve been in pain, hope it clears up soon. @carol oh lordy, you’ve been and gorn and dunnit now, haha! Good like with the brown stuff on the fan
