My trip to the wool shop will have to wait another day. Winds are going to be very high today.
So we risked it between showers and took the dogs out, but still managed to get soaked in the process with a heavy squall appearing before we managed to get back. Just drying out now and sipping on a steaming cappuccino, so all is well in the world.
Just my mum and our eldest daughter visiting for lunch today, so after coffee I’ll be having a tidy around and Rosemary will be cooking lunch.
Have a pleasant day everyone and hey, let’s be careful out there!
Good morning all.
Yes it is also windy in my part of the world, but not so bad. No rain yet but clouds are building.
As usual the walk with Minnie around the fields this morning.
I shall be finding something to clean shortly, maybe the kitchen and sink.
I try and do something around the house every day
The garden needs sorting out. The tadpoles are hatching and hope they enjoy the small pond that they are in. I had to transfer the spawn to the small pond as in the past I believe that the fish eat them.
It’s freezing and gale force wind outside but very sunny.
It’s sunny and bright here, but very blowy. I’m taking advantage of it and have pegged out 2.5 metres of royal blue sweatshirt fabric that I prewashed. This will be made into 3 school cardigans for my granddaughter. She doesn’t like the feel of home knitted ones, and the sweatshirt style ones you buy in the uniform shop always shrink, chiefly because manufacturers refuse to prewash fabric as they prefer the newness and crispness of the fabric straight off the looms. Personally, I can rarely tell the difference - if anything prewashed fabric feels much nicer because it is often softer to touch.
Anyway, in other news my son’s fiancee is currently at the maternity unit, with labour having started in the early hours. So we are all very excitedly awaiting news of their daughter’s arrival.
Well she’s here! Our granddaughter was born by emergency c-section this afternoon, weighing in at 6lbs 10oz.
We’ve had their dog most of the day, otherwise he would have been on his own. He’s very good at keeping his legs crossed, but even so… Now son has asked if we can get him back by the time he gets home, around 9.00. Only, it’s raining and Mr B doesn’t fancy walking him home in the rain (he’s not allowed in our cars because he’s ginger and moults like crazy!). Hmm, let’s hope the drizzle fizzles out soon…
congrats to you and son and wife …Happy days for all
Thanks Eliza
Welcome to the world, Bath’s GD!
Morning folks.
Hoping to get out today, walking to the wool shop. Just need to keep an eye on the weather.
Good morning all.
Congratulations Bath, another one to fuss over.
Oh dear is there ever going to be an end to it? I am talking about the plague that now has my daughter sweating over.
She went and visited her friend on Wednesday. The friend had a cough but when tested, it was negative. Yesterday she tested again and was positive.
So my daughter phoned me yesterday and said that she will not be seeing me until she knows if she has contracted the plague or not.
The thing is, she is supposed to be going away on Tuesday to Antigua.
We are all standing by with baited breath. And I shall be missing a Friday evening dinner, as I can’t go to my daughters.
Oh yea. The weather here ain’t too bad. Cloudy but not cold.
Worrying time indeed, Emjay! Hope D is going to be ok.
Did you see my question a few days back about the Sainsbury’s in Low Hall? Allotment friend thinks it is going to be redeveloped. I said there was something rumoured a while back but not actually that it was being built on. She thinks it is going ahead.
morning all , a slight ground frost , but pleased to say the wind as dropped for now , and the sun is beaming down .
Ive got a Apple Crumble in the oven I was trying to get it all done on the economy 7 , but its changed over now .
Looking forward to eating that after my lunch today .
Have a good day all .
Ah Sainsbury’s Jan.
I heard that the restaurant was closing. I asked a member of the staff on Tuesday and they said no it is not.
Good afternoon everybody.
I was desperate for a good nights sleep so took some knock out pills last night.
Tony woke me up with coffee & toast at 11.30 bless him. I then had a little nod again & now finally up.
I think we are going a walk to the next village this afternoon & a drink in our favourite pub.
No other plans.
Many congratulations to Sheba on the birth of your granddaughter.
Have a good day all…
Good morning all, nice and sunny here but very cold.
We now have buses running from Corton but its a one way loop hole system and I will have to walk a bit further to the bus stop, pass the sink hole and into Station Road. So we are going to try and get into Lowestoft Town Centre this morning.
Have a nice day all.
morning all , theres been a frost , but its done no harm ,
ive no plans for today
Have a nice day
Morning all.
That’s good, Susie. Hope you manage it.
I need a supermarket for some Anchor spread, as fast running out of it. Will decide after breakfast and dog walk whether to drive to Tesco, or empty out the sholley and bus it, after a 10m walk to the main road. Pity I can’t get the bus to the other SMs.
Good morning all.
Now that the frost has cleared and the sun has woken up, it is quite pleasant out.
As I said yesterday about my daughter and maybe she has Covid.
Now this is interesting.
She did a test with two types of test kits. The new one where you only shove up your nose tested negative. Then she did the old one that you do the nose and throat, and that was positive. I will leave you to think on that.
Nothing planed yet for today except doing the weekly laundry.
That’s worrying, Emjay.
