Chit Chat Thread (Part 2)

That’s amazing, Carol! Well done.

A lovely time at the carvery, an unexpected pleasure, my BiL turned up with sister.

Afterwards bruv and SiL and I got some plants and went to the cemetery for our parents. Then I dropped them home and am here at the hotel. After my cuppa I may walk down to the shops. I will see.

Morning all.

Yes I did walk down to the shops and was soooooo exhausted afterwards I just stayed in bed most of the evening, trying to watch telly. Did catch a bus back to the station but still had that hill to get up.

IKEA breakfast this morning, and a wander about the store. Fill up with petrol. And off to see the last person on my list, then I want to load up the car this evening before it gets dark. I would like an early start in the morning, a breakfast in Morrisons before starting the drive home.

Morning all , I have a delivery today so not going far .
I had a lovely walk last evening , so much nicer when the weather is kind . no coat needed just a warm cardi.
Have a nice day , and good luck Carol with the Boiler replacement .

Good morning everybody.

I’m expecting the heating engineer at 9.00am to remove our old back boiler & install a new combi.

I think it will be an all day job & possibly go into tomorrow so nothing exciting for me to do today other than provide tea & keep out of his way.

Luckily I’ve got a room upstairs where my computer lives. Got an oil filled radiator in there & a settee so I’ll be nice & cosy.

Ady is coming to take Tony out for a few hours.

Thank you Eliza - and Janet enjoy your last day.

Have a good day everybody…

Yes, hope it all goes well Carol, we could probably manage without heating, but no hot water :flushed: … brrrr…

Morning all, looks like being another fine day here, a real feel of spring in the air.

Mum is visiting us for lunch today and I have to collect her and then take her home afterwards, so nothing else planned.

Enjoy the sunshine everyone :sunglasses:

With this warm weather we are having, I have had no need for either of the two coats I brought with me!

Good morning all.
It looks like it is going to be another fine day. I was sitting out in the garden yesterday with my daughter when she came. She does come most days except weekends when she goes away.
Got my 4th jab yesterday and my arm is really sore. It has not been as bad as this in the past. Still had the Phizer one again.
Cooking to be done this morning,
Hoping all goes well for you lot and your plans go as expected.

Morning everyone, a beautiful sunny morning, washing’s on.

I’ve not been in to see you all for a couple of days, oops!
@carol I’m pleased to see your arm is beginning to feel a bit better now, and hope the upheaval of the boiler is over and done with as quick as possible.
@Jazzi how lucky you’ve been with the weather! But, wot - no pie and mash? Mind you, I can’t stand the stuff - I only had it once over at the Elephant and Castle, and it was absolutely disgusting. Grey, lumpy mash and a pie with more gristle than meat. And as for the liquor, yuck, the sight of it made me want to heave!

Well I’m on day 3 of Covid, and feel absolutely fine, as if nothing at all is wrong with me. But now Mr B has just tested positive, hardly surprising really, despite all our very careful separate living over the last 2 days, with me sanitising everything I touch! Hey ho, at least I won’t have to carry on doing that now, lol.

Sheba - How did you know you’d got it if you didn’t feel ill - I mean what made you take the test?

Ah, yes it must have sounded odd! Well, because my daughter tested positive last Sunday, and I’d been with her most days in the previous week. So I tested on Monday and again on Tuesday, and that’s when I got the two lines. But to be fair, although I feel absolutely fine today, I was extremely tired all day Monday, and had a very slight headache. I spent about 16 out of 24 hours asleep!! But by Wednesday afternoon, I started to feel back to normal again.

Morning all.

Sheba, sorry to hear that. Spoke to my youngest sister yesterday. She returned to work this week, after 4 weeks, but on half her hours (she is PT anyway) as she still has no energy and still feels rough, not eating properly. She tried getting out of returning but when she phoned a week ago was told she was already put on the rota. So she told them she’d not work all her hours because of how she still feels. I asked if she no longer had the virus so I could pay her a visit at the weekend.

I am on my way home this morning, so a long day and long drive ahead. The Morrisons is before I get onto the M11 so I will do a petrol top up, and have breakfast. Set me up for the journey.

I will do a food shop when I have got home and unloaded most from the car, before getting washing on, having a decent dinner, and a quiet evening. Collecting Holly first thing in the morning. Missed our cuddles and smooching.

Sounds like you had a nice break Jan, always nice to get home though…

Morning all, looks like being another lovely spring day, so warm yesterday it was quite unusual.

I’m baking bread this morning then we are going to view a house that eldest daughter is thinking of buying but may need some works doing to it, so she wanted me to check it out for her.

Have a pleasant day everyone

Another days stuck in with the heating engineer for me.

I wish there had been two of them then they’d have been twice as quick! Hopefully he will be finished this evening.
Ho told me he might have to stay till about 7.00. I said ‘You’ll be staying for dinner then’ he smiled & said ‘yes’… OMG I hope he knows I didn’t mean it!!

Have a safe journey home Jazzi.

Have a good day all…

Good morning all.
Yes it does look like yet another fine day. But them that seem to know are saying it will not last.
Just back from first walk with Minnie around the fields.
Nothing yet planed for today but this evening going to my daughter for dinner.

Morning everyone, well what a beautiful week it’s been, waking up every morning to blue skies and sunshine!

@Jazzi have a safe journey home, I bet you can’t wait to get back to Holly!

I was sorting through all my fabric scraps the other day and found I had a quite a lot of bits of denim, from when I’ve recycled my old jeans to make things for my granddaughter. Anyroad, I looked online for patterns for slouchy boho bags, and found a lovely patchwork denim idea, which I’m going to try to copy. That’s my job for today! If it works out OK, I’ll post a picture up here sometime.

Morning all , lovely sunny day here , im waiting in for my Food delivery , bit unusual in that theres been no info on Whether its been picked yet , or if my delivery is on time .
Have a good day all .

Afternoon all.

Thanks.

Yes, nice to be home apart from tenants next door playing loud music in their garden, as they did last weekend. A bit of warm weather and that’s it…nobody else can enjoy it. I need to speak to them, nip it in the bud, as my friend said yesterday.

A very quick two and half hours driving, a personal best. But the car went into limp mode after I’d stopped for shopping. This is worrying now, as the second time it has happened. And no warning signal on dash either.

Perhaps an unnamed TL 3 had a hand in this?

Heh heh.

You need to get that looked at, it could be quite dangerous if it happens in fast traffic! :flushed:
