Chit Chat Thread (Part 2)

Good morning everyone, sunny here too after quite a sharp frost, but warming up nicely now… :sunglasses:

Just back from the forest and taking five with a steaming cappucino before deciding how to waste the rest of the day, which shouldn’t be too hard a decision as I’ve nothing particular on my agenda apart from cooking bacon and broad beans for lunch.

Happy hols Janet, enjoy…

Have a pleasant day folks

Good morning all.
Also nice and sunny here but a chill in the light wind.
Laundry day today. Second wash in the machine and first in the dryer.
I don’t put the second lot in the dryer but just hang it out in the conservatory.
Today I am getting a bus to north Chingford to get some Covid test kits. On the bus back I may stop off At Iceland. Then a bus back home.
Daughter has gone to the IOW, so I have to see to the cat Sunday and Monday mornings.
Enjoy your holiday Jan.

Morning all , sunny here , yesterday was warm enough to sit out in the garden , I dusted the Parosols off and put them up to sheld from the sun .
So today I will go a walk , not sure where at the moment that will be decided when my driver gets here.
think i may be getting a delivery of summer clothes too today , but they can be left in the porch .

Enjoy your Holiday @Jazzi

Have a good day all .

Good morning everybody.

I had another uneasy nights sleep due to the pain in my elbow. Managed to make myself a cuppa & now here typing with one hand.

Today I want to instruct Tony in the art of housecleaning. I shall do my share by flicking a feather duster round with my good arm.
Later we’ll go a walk with the shopping trolley to the local coop for our weekend food supplies.

The kids have all been to see us & done us some essential errands. Yesterday Ady fetched us another oil filled radiator from Screwfix. Another 9 days till we get the new boiler & we’re feeling cold.

Today son in law Nim is fetching me a new electric fire from B&Q ready for the boiler installation. The heating engineer said he wouldn’t charge me any extra to install a new fire. I’m just wondering if we can use it free standing until it is installed properly?

Sue bought me books to read & Karen visited with her toddler grandson Coby (who never stopped grizzling)

Tony is being immeasurable help with helping me dress & shower. He helped me wash my hair last night but the styling leaves a lot to be desired!!

Have a good day all…

Thanks, everyone, for my holiday wishes. There will be wifi so I will pop in when I have time. (Like most evenings, lol. Will be in hotel room by then, with books and telly.)

All is going to plan. Have packed some bits, have ironed tops and will pack the case this evening.

Have a lovely holiday Jazzi… :grinning:

Have fun Jazzi!

Thanks ladies!

Not going out on the town then Jazzi? lol

Enjoy your holiday. I look forward to your reports from London.x

I don’t do that here, lol! Nope, only this evening when seeing my friends in the hotel’s on-site pub, for dinner. Actually, it was a pub, or pub/hotel, before being converted to a Premier Inn.

Morning all. Kids next door got me up early, seems both are grizzling.

Most of my activities for this week are during the day, meeting up with family, friends and old neighbours. The hotel sits on the edge of the Epping Forest, and though it does have street lights from the town to the hotel, there are none beyond. And there is a good walk from the station to the hotel. I don’t want to do that in the dark, hence why I have decided against going to a theatre in London. I want to be back in my hotel room before it gets really dark. I suppose if I feel a bit lonely one or two evenings I could eat on site, but I will try to have a good meal during the day, and maybe take in a sandwich for later.

The friends I am seeing later today live along that stretch of unlit road, a few miles away. Originally they were getting a taxi to me, then I would run them home. I phoned yesterday and asked if we could do that the other way. I will go and collect them before it gets too dark and we could be back in the hotel by 6, 6.30. Then they will get a taxi home.

Friend only had his eye cataract op Thursday, and still needs the other one done later. Hence why he cannot drive right now.

morning all , I see the roof tiles have frost on them ,hope it warms up abit .

I had a lovely walk yesterday a cross fields through a village and returning by the River ,

There was a Phone box in the Village and it was being used as a Library,These boxes are now becoming rare to find insitu. And i dont think any are used for Phone calls anymore .
Have a good day

Morning all, its lovely and sunny here.
Not going out today, if its warm enough later I might sit along the sea front.
Janet has picked a lovely week for holiday.
Have a safe journey and enjoy yourself Janet.
Have a nice day all.

Good morning everybody.

Janet, have a wonderful time. Will you be visiting your old allotment friends?

Eliza - I love that phone box library - it wouldn’t last 5 mins where I live. Vandals would have had it.
Recently they tore some young trees up from the park behind my house.

Daughter Sue coming to visit us later this morning. We will probably go a walk to the coop this afternoon for a few supplies.

Still suffering with my broken elbow but managing with Tony’s help.

Have a good day all…

We have a phone box library in our village too…I’m returning some books later…I’ll take a picture

Gorgeous day here…have a good one everyone

Good morning all.
I was up early this morning. No real reason as I can’t just lie in bed once I am awake. Had breakfast, took Minnie out, and also been and done my daughters cat. Nice to drive that early on a Sunday not much traffic.
It was cold so early with I chill in the light wind.
Plans for the rest of the day?? Just let it happen I suppose.

Morning chit chatters, it’s another lovely day here today.

I haven’t popped in here for a few days, so have only just read about your broken elbow @carol. Poor you, it must be so painful and difficult to cope! I hope you heal quickly (((hugs)))

@Jazzi have a lovely, lovely holiday! You’ve been planning it for a while and now it’s here

We took our granddaughter out yesterday, because my daughter wanted to give her house a spring clean, and it’s so boring for the little one. We went to the model village at Babbacombe, which she absolutely loved! Actually so did we - it’s been some years since we went there and my goodness has it changed! It is huge now, so much to see - our GD was just running here there and everywhere calling “Nana, come and see this!”, “Grandda look at that!”. Then we sat by the river at Totnes to have a very late lunch, and she enjoyed feeding a rook that was hopping about hoping for some crumbs. Got her back to her mum’s by about 6.00 and daughter was exhausted, she hadn’t stopped all day. And this morning she texted me to say she’s tested positive . So that’s her off work for a week, and I’ll be having to pick up granddaughter from school each day to drop her back home (she already gets a lift to school from a neighbour).

I went to the Model village a few years back and agree it was a great place, keeping all the shrubbery in minature must take an age to do ,

We remarked on that - and keeping all the grass so neatly trimmed as well!

Morning all, a hard frost here again but a sunny day ahead they say, so no complaints. :sunglasses:

Just a day in the garden for us today sorting out the lawn to clear the winter debris.

Wishing you all a pleasant day
