Chit Chat Thread (Part 2)

morning all , a Sunny day here too and the Birds are singing , think i will take a walk down by the River
today .
I did a short Field walk last evening all I found was 3 Golf Balls ! in a field in the middle of nowhere .
I left them there for someone else to find …
Susie , good luck breaking your capsels up .Which reminds me i have to collect my repeat Prescription
today .

Good morning everybody.

It’s another lovely sunny morning here. I’m going to see my friend Jean later - she’s been feeling nauseous for the past month & is currently undergoing tests.

I had a bit of a scare last night. At 1.00am I saw a black shape walk by my kitchen window. The security light came on & I rushed downstairs but didn’t see anybody. Think I might start leaving a light on all night to deter any would be intruders.

We were burgled 10 years ago & it was very traumatic.

Susie - you can buy a pill cutter from the chemist. I use one to cut my steroid tablets in half. They’re surprisingly very good.

Have a good day all…

Good morning everyone, a nice day here too, warm and bright… :sunglasses:

Nothing much planned other than catering for visitors at lunchtime, but it’s always nice to see them.

Have a pleasant day folks

Susie, I think that is taking it a bit too far, to cut into fours! Maybe try another pharmacy.

Good morning all.
It does not feel so cold this morning. I have been out already with Minnie, and surprise surprise, someone has cleared up the bottles and other rubbish that the football crowd leave.
My daughter gave me another rhubarb plant yesterday, I left it soak in water for an hour and just now planted it.
That makes 4 different varieties that I have now.
As usual for Thursday, I am going to make the Jewish penicillin. Chicken soup with carrots and onion.
Yes those pill cutters do work.

Morning chit chatters, it’s a bit dull here, but no rain forecast all day, which is good!

@susiejaeger that’s a bit poor, expecting you to quarter your tablets - they should have supplied you with a pill cutter free of charge!

I’d never heard of this and I just googled it and found it really is a thing! Well blow me down!

Yesterday I made a sweet little romper on my new sewing machine for our granddaughter who will be arriving in about 4 weeks. I think I’ll make another one today, they’re so cute and very quick to make.

Emjay, I always making Jewish Chicken Penicillin, the Jews have it on Lent or if they have a cold.

Janet, this is the Doctors Surgery that has suggested cutting the pills, but i’m not going to take any notice and just take one tablet, my Pharmacy is only taking instructions from my Doctors surgery.

A busy morning.

Ordered my meds online, first

Been out to town this morning. Library first, then though I have planned a trip to Norwich on Monday to look for new clothes, I did manage to buy some today. New trousers in Bon Marche, and a new shirt in Peacock. Wandered up and down, looked at shoes in Shoe Zone, then bought a few bits in Iceland. To the car and drove to the retail park to Halfords, to buy a Nextbase storage card for my new dash cam. They recommend you get the same name card as the device. It has an SOS function which I tried to set up but I think it needs to be put in the car, with the card, finding a satellite, before it activates. It is free for 3 months then chargeable, but the website doesn’t state by how much. Typical.

My London Oyster card arrived today. I went online to transfer the balance from the old card but they only give you 3 days to touch in at a reader, so I will have to try again the day before I leave here.

Lunch, then a dog walk. Here on the PC, then I will do a cuppa shortly. Oh, and managed to get fitted in tomorrow for a hair trim. I want it to look tidy for my holiday.

Started a packing list on the PC. Looking a bit sparse at the moment so no doubt there is lots of stuff I have forgotten!

Right, time for that cuppa, methinks!

(FYI, still a bit of a chilly wind.)

Jazzi I like my Jeans from Bon Marche , good value and good fit .
I collected my Prescription , and with it being mild and dry , I weather proofed my Garden Bench .
I also had a food delivery this morning .My Pantry is looking full .

You sound very organised for your holiday @Jazzi. I could do with a few days away - haven’t been away for such a long time now! Might look into it

I didn’t get round to making another romper today, because I decided to alter another one I made a couple of weeks ago. It was a summer one, in seersucker, and had little straps that tied in bows at the shoulder. I just wasn’t happy about the ties on a young baby - she could so easily pull them and get them twisted round her neck. I’m surprised a pattern like this would include sizes for newborn upwards. Fine for slightly older children. So anyway, I undid it all and put just straps on the back that come over the shoulder and fix to the front bib with poppers. Much safer :relaxed:

I will be so busy during my few days away no doubt I will need another holiday soon after! The problem is getting Holly booked in with her carer. He gets fully booked quite quickly.

Enjoy your break Jan, hope the weather is kind to you…

Nice and mild here but breezy and showers forecast for later, although a real feel of spring about it today. Nothing much planned but I’m hoping to finish servicing my Jeep if an ordered part arrives.

Have a pleasant day everyone

Morning all, nice and sunny here.

We will be going to Gorleston this morning, to look around the shops.

Have a nice day all.

morning all , Sunny and mild , todays plan is to have a walk round the Memorial Park and see what Spring Flowers i can see .I only have Daffs out at the moment .
Also have a delivery of Dog food …

Good morning all.
Just back from my stroll around the fields with Minnie.
The weather is not too bad at the moment, but I can see some heavy clouds baring down from the west. The forecast is rain and my barometer has fallen.
No real plans for today, but I shall do some housework, I try and do one room a day.
I am going to my daughter for dinner this evening. It’s getting to be a regular thing now.
I tried out the new mop and bucket that my daughter bought me on the hall and kitchen yesterday.

Morning all.

Hair cut later today.

Thanks Barry, I still have another week yet. Lots to do before then.

YS has Covid. She has been ill for 3 weeks now. Spoke to her on the phone yesterday and she started coughing so we stopped the call. She had felt well enough a week ago to go out, so presumably she did a bit of shopping, but she said she can’t eat, or struggles to. Stays in bed watching Netflix. Goodness knows how she caught that, and surprising I didn’t succumb, as she fell ill the day after I’d collected her for her car, and her screaming fit at me!

Morning chit chatters, well it’s not sunny here, far from it! Pouring down! I’ve just come back from giving my daughter a lift to work, as she usually walks the mile and a half, but in this weather she’d have been soaked. Her lovely neighbour, the husband of the one who walks my daughter’s dog twice a week, has offered more than once to give her a lift when it’s raining. “I’m always up”, he says, “it’s no trouble”. So today she tried ringing him - first time she’s been about to accept his offer - and he didn’t pick up, haha! So as I was up I took her.

@Jazzi sorry to hear about your sister, sounds as if she’s got a really bad dose of Covid - hope she’s over it soon.

Nothing on the agenda today, but will more than likely be in my sewing room making something or other.

Good morning everybody.

I’m lunching with some friends from one of my face-book groups today in the crooked spire town, Chesterfield.

Sue is coming to go a walk round the park with Tony & call in the local pub.

I might do an early evening shop at Tesco when I get back - see how I feel.

Janet I’m glad you & y s are speaking now - even if it did take covid to heal the breach.

Have a good day all…

Carol, I know!.
Thanks Carol and Bath.
