Chit Chat Thread (Part 2)

Thanks Barry. I will give it another go.
All I wanted to know, ‘what is an alternative to putty’?

The tag doesn’t need to be explicit Emjay, just an extension of the thread title really, but it’s ok to use the same words as the title if it says it all anyway…

Hi all, back home now and in terrible pain, leg keeps giving away underneath me, they say its going to be a long journey getting back to health again. When he opened me up the operation was a lot worst then he thought, as the MRI scan didn’t show this, my nerves and muscles have been crushed for a long time, so he had to do a lot more work on me, Surgery time was 1 1/2 hrs but was there for 3 hrs.

Good that you’re home now anyway Susie and at least you are now in the recuperation phase. Take care of yourself and don’t try to rush your recovery, your body has a lot to do so you need to give if time. Here’s hoping your pain subsides PDQ though, but I’m surprised the hospital didn’t get that better under control for you before discharge.

Susie, your husband really needs to phone the hospital or your GP for advice, surely they gave you a number to call if you have post op problems? Pain should be properly managed and there is certainly something awry with your post OP treatment by the sounds of it… :flushed:

Morning all, just back from the Tesco run and no other plans now other than staying in and maybe doing a jigsaw until the storm passes.

Hope you all have a safe day, take care out there if you have to go out…

Morning all.

Susie, sorry to hear that but it is not unexpected. Your body has suffered a lot of trauma over the years and consequently the surgeon had to do more, as you say. It is early days.

I was thinking earlier, can you imagine if Uncle Joe were still here? He’d be shouting ‘Oramorph!! Susie darling!!!’ The times he wrote that to me.

Take care.

Haha, I remember it well, he certainly knew his way around the medicine cabinet…

Yes he did. I bet we could have put him on Susie’s case, lol.

Good morning all.
Oh Susie, I feel for you. From what you are saying, it would seem the healing process could take some time.
Hopefully it will get better as time goes on.
Uncle Joe. I vaguely remember him.
Well we all know about the weather. At the moment my weather station says it is gusting up to 24mph.
I have been out with Minnie, and it was not too bad. I just stayed away from the trees.
I have no other need to go out, except later this afternoon to my daughter for another free dinner.

Morning all,
Susie I’m so sorry to hear you are in such pain. I really hope it improves soon, but I do agree with Barry that you should contact the hospital for more help with pain management. You shouldn’t have to suffer this much.

The wind has been really picking up here over the last half hour or so. We were warned of 90mph gales from around 7am, but it wasn’t anything like that. Think it’s getting there now though :dash: :dash: I shall be mostly staying indoors today.

I do know, with Susie, that she has had problems tolerating some pain killers. I would think now she needs to contact her GP for this, as she has been discharged.

The wind gusts for my area are forecast to be about 40mph from 11-3, so either Holly has to go out before or after…or she goes into the garden.

Just the garden for our two today Jan, and anyway all the forests have been closed for the day because of the danger of falling trees!

We had a little walk about an hour ago, just our usual short route. In front of telly now.

They already know Barry, and I have painkillers, and Hospital has already been on the phone to me, my Surgeon says it will get better, it might take 12 weeks though, I will be seeing him in two weeks time.

Morning all, I am in a lot of pain this morning in my leg, maybe its because I was laying on my side all night.

No damage here with the storm.

Have a nice day all.

Morning Susie and all to follow.

I heard an almighty crash yesterday evening, investigated how I could (in the dark), checked with next door, and then this morning in the light, went and looked everywhere, and am none the wiser. I thought perhaps I would see a brick wall down but no evidence of that either.

A laundry day today perhaps. Exciting, huh?

Morning everyone, just back from walking the dogs and quite a few toppled trees in the forest, but no surprise there.

We lost a few panes of glass from our greenhouse which will be a pain to clear up, as it smashed onto a gravel area and then it snowed on it overnight, so no chance until it thaws, we’ll just have to take the dogs into the garden in their leads until I can get it sorted.

Have a good day folks
