Good luck Susie, Iā€™ll be thinking of youā€¦ :crossed_fingers:

Good morning all
Hoping all goes well tomorrow Susie. I hopefully expect Jan will pass on any news on here.
Right. What a lot of wet came out of the heavens yesterday. I did not even do the afternoon walk with Minnie.
Today sunny, blue sky, at the moment.
Nothing else yet planed for today, so will just let it happen.

I will pass on any news of Susie, if she gives her permission for me to do so, just if it is to say ā€˜she has had the op and is doing okā€™.

I too leave out some dog walks if weather is bad. Yesterday we just went out the front though we were both dressed for a longer walk. That wind did it for me.

Thank you all.

Janet now has permission to let everyone know whatā€™s happened, my Husband will phone her.

I will be getting up at 4am and leaving home at 5.30am to be at the Hospital by 6.30am, I donā€™t know what time they start operations, but I am the first patient because I am Insulin dependant.

Thanks Susie, I will get hubby to let me know how much to report. We will, of course, look forward to you being back on the internet and letting us know for yourself.

Washing machine gave up the ghost this morning so needed a new one but this time I was looking for one without a myriad of buttons and knobs I never used.
Found one at AO who will also take the old one away.

A couple of things to remember if you are removing a washing machine.

Always remember to isolate the water supply.

And two if you have a cat, I donā€™t but Buttons has decided to visit, keep it away from where you are working it is now as far under the kitchen units as he can get and lying down as happy as Larry, fortunately I have until Monday to get him out.

Haha, good luck with that Fragglesā€¦

Good morning all, still way too early here but I couldnā€™t sleep so thought Iā€™d annoy you lot for awhile. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
Storms forecast for tonight so today Iā€™ll be replacing a suspect fence posts and making sure everything is secure outside in readiness.

Good luck to Susie for today, wishing the best for her.

Have a good day everyone :slightly_smiling_face:

Morning Barry, and all to follow.

I hope to be on here later with a report from Susieā€™s husband.

Coffee group this morning, then tonightā€™s writing group is at a house further away from me, but I can attend by Zoom. Yes please! Means no driving in the dark, having to find it (the road is in the countryside, on the outer edge of Lowestoft). Or leaving Holly for hours.

Good morning all.
My thoughts go to our Susie, and hope all goes well.
Just back from Sainsburyā€™s and did not need a lot. Itā€™s good going early and I donā€™t have to mingle with the crowds.
It is not raining yet but I dit notice a few little drops on the windscreen. Maybe a warning of what is to come.
I think I will get the vacuum cleaner out. Just thinking.

Started raining while in the cafe. Holly is too much of a wuss to go into the garden, even with her coat on. I ainā€™t taking her out.

Spoken to Susieā€™s husband and seems all went well. The nerves were being crushed more than shown on the MRI so letā€™s hope this surgery works for her. I wish her a speedy recovery.

Yes, I wish her well too, be great to hear that the operation was a complete success in due course.

Regarding Holly though itā€™s amazing what great bladders dogs have! Our two can go twelve hours overnight and still refuse to go out in the morning, sometimes itā€™s fourteen hours between weesā€¦ :flushed:

That is good going, Barry. But I caved in and got dressed again, and took her. We both got wet and windswept but at least she did her toilets and she seems better after her poo troubles yesterday.

I have since spoken to Susie. She phoned on her PAYG mobile so I rang her back. The surgeon, when he saw her afterwards, said it was successful. She is in excruciating pain but eating and drinking. They will try to get her up today, and discharge tomorrow. I think she has a long road ahead to recovery, but have advised her to do as they say, to help heal. I wouldnā€™t want to be in her shoes.

Yes Jan, a long road ahead methinks but at least there should be some light now at the end of a long, long tunnel for herā€¦

Morning all.

Three times Holly got me up in the night, but once she didnā€™t want to go out. I have had a coffee and tablets and if able, will nip back into bed for a lie in. Saw sheā€™d done a toilet in the garden so hopefully not in a further hurry.

I enjoyed my Zoom meeting last night (the lady whose GF has Covid also did it that way). It went quite well. Holly behaved and ended up in her bed for most of the evening. We finished a little before 9.30, I made my excuses and left so I could walk Holly.

I might try for the retail park today. Itā€™s been awhile. Depends on the weather.

Yesterday the surgery had sent my repeat meds to a nearer pharmacy, where Iā€™d got my antibiotics. They will continue there, at my request, as it is better than driving into town to the Superdrug. I timed the walk home: about 8 minutes. Fortunately the weather had calmed down a lot in the afternoon.

Seems strange without Susie on here. I will let her settle at home and maybe speak to her tomorrow, or later today, if she is able to.

Good morning all.
Yes it is not normal not to see Susieā€™s early morning posts. Excuse my ignorance, but what operation has she had? I feel sure she has told us but I just canā€™t remember.
At the moment the weather here is not too bad. Although it rained a lot yesterday, and the fields once again is waterlogged.
Just waiting to see what the forthcoming storms bring.
Nothing planed for today, so I shall just let it happen.

Morning all, why have I never contributed to this thread I wonder? Well here I am at last. It looks like an interesting place to be so I might well stay :slightly_smiling_face:

Not quite the heavy rain this morning that Iā€™d expected, but itā€™s grey and gloomy out there. Donā€™t really have to go out today, so will stay in and do some sewing - my daughter wants a heat mat to protect the surface under her slow cooker, so thatā€™s what Iā€™ll be making a start on. Canā€™t finish it today, because Iā€™m waiting on some heat resistant wadding Iā€™ve ordered.

Looking back through recent posts, I see Susie has had her surgery and is suffering a great deal. @Jazzi please pass on my best wishes to her for a good recovery, though I can see from whatā€™s been said itā€™s likely to be a long haul. Poor Susie.

Good morning everyone, a blowy old night here but very mild at 10Ā°C and rain forecast for later.:sunglasses:

Dogs have been walked now and just having a brew before clipping the dogs, but no other plans as yet.:dog:

@Jazzi , why not have your meds delivered? The postie just drops our through the letterboxā€¦

Best wishes to @susiejaeger , hope sheā€™s in a little less pain this morning.
Have a pleasant day folks

Emjay, the spinal discs that were pressing on her nerve have been dealt with. Remember she wanted surgery years ago and it was refused?

Before sending this post, I just rang her hubby, asked if heā€™d heard from her this morning but he is ringing her about 10. She has a physio seeing her today as she has a numb leg. He said he just wants her home. He might ring me later if he has more news. I have asked him to let her know she has many friends on here asking after her, and sending their best wishes.

Bath, you are always welcome on here, to join the few of us die hards, lol. Susie, Emjay and I kept up on this part of the site at the old home. We have been joined by Barry, and a few others pop in now and then. It doesnā€™t matter what you want to chat about, I especially read all posts.
