No staying up for me tonight. Dog and I will go to bed our usual time, I will read, and then wait for any fireworks to stop, so we can sleep. They are not as bad here as in London. They would go on for hours, and were close by and loud. Fortunately she is not bothered by then.
No specific plans for today. I have only just got up, not even a coffee yet, so will be lagging behind, whatever.

Damp and raining. But not too bad, managed to do my walk around the field without getting too wet.
Got a bread in the machine, should be finished in 1 hour and 7 minutes so the timer says.
Not going out anywhere as no need to. Just maybe go for a longer walk this afternoon with Minnie.
Plans for tonight’s activity. None.
Stand by for a surge in the plague within the next few days.
It will not be a happy new year for some.

Goodness knows what I will be up to today. Sis will be at work. So just the usual, pottering about indoors and the dog walks.
I got takeaway fish n chips yesterday, and have some left for today to reheat. Only a small portion, though. Might have lunchtime.
Chucked bread away yesterday, but had put a recent purchase in the freezer. That will have to do till I decide on a shopping trip later. As I threw such a lot of stuff away yesterday, clearing out the cupboards before bin collection this week, I must must MUST just stop buying food, when I don’t need or want it.

Yes the fireworks 
were very close and noisy. They even upset Minnie and myself.
Fortunately they did not go on forever.
As usual for a Saturday, laundry has to be done and the second lot is in the machine and first lot in the dryer.
Weather here is quite mild. The weather station says it is 13.9c.
Friend is coming here later for a cuppa and biscuits.

Just back from a particularly dirty walk around the lake, but as usual the dogs have been washed in the sink and we having a well earned coffee before deciding how to waste the rest of the day.

Also just back from the morning stroll around the fields.
I do at times think that I am lucky to have these fields all to myself. Minnie can do and go where she pleases. There is no way she can get out as it has a wire fencing all around and the only entrance is though the locked gate from the road of which I have a key. But I don’t come in that way, as I have my own gate in my garden.
Weather here is also mild and dry, but forecast is rain later this afternoon.
Lunch or dinner will be a lamb shank with lots of vegetables.

That sounds ideal, Emjay, your very own dog exercise area, and free of charge. Would love that for Holly. But yes, there is the downside of what it’s like after rain. It is bad enough here she likes to go on grassy areas, kicks her legs about and gets them dirty. And the gutters are just a mess of wet leaves, which of course is where she usually toilets.
Rather windy here, and any rain that was, has gone.
I have a flavoured pork steak, to cook whenever it has defrosted, so either lunch or dinner. Also took out a 2 pint of milk, save going shopping just yet.
No other plans. Took all lights and Christmas ornaments down yesterday. Bah humbug, lol.

Just back from Sainsbury’s for my weekly shop. It was not so busy and I got everything I needed and a couple of bits that I treated myself to. Well I can.
It just started to rain as I got back home. I did my early morning stroll as usual with Minnie.
Shortly going to prepare the vegetables for another batch of soups, then let it happen for the rest of the day.

I am quite behind this morning, having got up very late. Dog’s fault for wanting another garden visit around 4am , leaving me to struggle with sleep afterwards.
Just having my cereal after her walk then I will get ready to go out.
