What problems are you having with the Marine Tank?
We had problems with the Marine, used to buy a Fish for £40 and within a week is was dead.

Have to got the Marine tank all set up and fish in it?
The thing with a Marine Tank, you have to get the temp right, get the salt water right, the lights etc.
We had Yellow Tangs, Powder Blues, Crown Fish etc. our friend got stung by the Crown fish and we had to go to the Hospital with him.
Looked into a marine tank myself once but gave up before even starting so many variables…just concentrated on a nice tropical and also kept a nice tank for Malawi cichlids which often often rival marine fish for colour. A good friend of mine keeps a marine tank but mostly for the corals /rocks and an odd fish or three

Off to the monthly church hall quiz this morning. Usually lasts between 1.5 - 2 hours. Nice to see the other 2 ladies, but there should be 4 of us today (1 of whom goes regularly to Tuesday cafe).

Janet, Marine Fish are Fish that come from the Mediterrean Sea, Tropical Fish are cold water.
So because the Fish come from the Sea, you have to put sea salt in the tank, the correct amount and water temp right, otherwise the fish will die.
Also live Corals, so that the Clowns can hide, as they live inside them.
Its hard work.

Ah, thanks Susie. I just knew of tropical fish, which my parents had at one time.
Rob and I have also had Fish, Rob had Fish even before I met him.
When we got married we bought a Marine Tank, set it up had some Clowns and corals in there, then we went and bought Sea Horses, what a mistake, we were naive at the time on Marine, Sea Horses should be in a Tank of their own because of their slow moving, they all starved to death, because the other fish got the food before them.

I am just setting the marine tank up, cured the dead rock and sand, mixed the water, filled the tank and a day later the water was so cloudy you could not see into the tank.
I am running 3 filters to try and get it clear, no fish or corals in it yet.
It seems to be a bacterial bloom.
The fish for the tropical tank are a pair of swordtails, red and white stripes and 4 large red tail tetras.
I love swordtails Swimmers, they are bit expensive though, we used to have them many years ago.
Afteroon all I was never keen on swordtails loved mollies sailfins especially. All this chatter on fishtanks has made me reminisce always lots of guppy babies.

I too will be in town today but probably later than yourself, Susie. I have a reserved book to collect, having seen it on my account when I logged in yesterday. The system hadn’t sent a text or email, and I only have 4 days left. Also a few to go back, and I’ll browse for more to borrow.
Won £8.50 on last night’s Euro, and only had 1.60 left on my account, so that has bumped it up a little bit. Enough for a few more games.
Must change bed linen.

I did buy a pair of Pink Trainers today.
One of our Small Gourami Fish, got stuck this afternoon in one of the ornaments in the tank, Rob had to put his hand in the tank and try and get him lose, managed it but the poor fish has damaged the top of his head trying to get out, so he will probably be the next one to die. Also we have noticed one of our Ground feeding catfish has disappeared, as there were two, now only one, but we can’t find a dead body anywhere and they are not that small that you can’t see them.
They’re nice!

Had a lovely day today weather fantastic really enjoyed it. I went for breakfast at 10am with a good friend and a lovely breakfast too.
Back to the garden and pottered about for a while, my sister popped in and we had a nice chat in the garden while I pottered on she laughed and said “am I disturbing you” She wasn’t I was merely planting some violas in the wall baskets etc etc.
Then over to sainsburys to pick up some salad which I have eaten with mackerel lovely it was too reminded me of Summer to come. Just as I finished had phone rang a friend who I have arrangements made with for lunch out Friday she was merely double checking and had some news to impart too. Now watching Judge Judy and doing a bit of colouring very restful and nice day.
