Chit Chat Thread (Part 2)

Morning all.

Emjay hope your Daughter is better from her cold.

Janet, how does it feel without a car?

Off out to the shops this morning.

Have a good day all.

Good morning all been up since 5-30 so been chilling with coffee and Xmas songs, got 2 chilled days so will relax and watch all the sport on tv, hope you all have a great day and stay warm and healthy

Morning all.

Susie, well I still have the use of the hire (courtesy) vehicle, so I wonā€™t feel the pinch until I return it to the branch and make my own way home. Spoke to them yesterday and said Iā€™ll take it back about 3pm on Wednesday, the last day it is booked out for,

Iā€™m dashing round all the stores I like, stocking up on bulky items. Got more dog food yesterday in the large Tesco at GY, then dog biscuits in pets at home opposite. The more stuff I get now, the easier it will be when I no longer have the car. It just all stockpiles in my back bedroom.

Going to chat to one of the mobility shops in town today, enquire about mobility scooter hire. If they no longer do that, will then go back to the other shop, newly opened, and see about buying one. ATM hiring, as a one off, daily, would be the better option.

Iā€™ll continue browsing for cars in the coming weeks but as said, not going to rush into any decision. Emergency provisions, like bread, milk and veg, I can go into town for,

PS, it was my damaged, written off car that I waved goodbye to, after clearing out my stuff from it.

Good morning all.
Saturday again, that came around quick, I feel like we had another one a few days ago.
Quite pleasant out but muddy on the fields.
I expect I shall get dragged out later as my daughter says she wants to go ā€˜up the mountā€™. So I expect that will mean lunch out. (my turn to pay.)

Good morning all, not very pleasant out there, grey, windy and cold.

Might start writing my Christmas Cards out today, no other plans for the day.

Have a nice day all.

Morning all.

Some more shopping today, most likely Aldi. Get more of their toilet and kitchen paper to stockpile in the back bedroom.. Anything large and bulky thatā€™s easier with the car. Both freezers are full for now but at least I have all I need, mostly, for Christmas and Boxing Day dinner, if I stay at home.

I did get to the mob scooter hire place, and spent ages chatting to the lady in there, bringing home forms and info sheets. I need to look into third party etc insurance first but thatā€™s not a fortune to pay out. The hire shop charges have remained as I thought: Ā£15 to become a member, then Ā£4 day rate, shop hours. Unfortunately this means having to use it on Saturdays to get moneyā€™s worth. A weekday would mean waiting till the 10.34 bus into town, to use free pass, whereas on a Saturday I can get one an hour earlier. They close either at 3pm or 4. I need to check that, so not that many hours to have the scooter. Without membership it is Ā£10 day rate.

Good morning all.
It is quite warm out here this morning. Done my chores, including a muddy stroll round the fields.
Got mice! Or did have. But out in the conservatory. Silly sods have got into the draw where I keep some gardening bits, and also mouse traps and bait that they have opened the bag and obviously eaten some of it.
Not much else am I doing today.

Morning all.

Ooh, hope you get rid of the blighters, Emjay.

Community cafe at 2pm, but might take the car out, still want some last minute shopping, like cleaning products. I want The Range and Poundstretcher, both in south Lowestoft, and not directly on a bus route.

Ah, yes, there is a bus. Well who knew, lol!

Good morning all.
It donā€™t look too bad out, but it is cold.
As usual Sainsburys shortly for the things I need.
Also going to my friend down the road. She had some laminate flooring installed over the weekend, and has some over. I am going to see if there is enough to do my kitchen.

@Jazzi by the time the car goes back you will need a storage contianer in the garden to store you ā€œstored up itemā€ But I do see you need to store your stocked up items. But do you need a car or would a possible taxi once a fortnight surfice to get you and bulky items back home.

@Kazz Iā€™d like to try and avoid getting cabs, because of the expense. Today I stayed in south Lowestoft and managed to visit four stores all near each other. The Range, Poundstretcher, Aldi then the big Morrisons. Was pleased in the last one as Iā€™ve been looking for unsweetened cappuccino pods. Got two boxes. There are bus stops near the first 3 so I could catch one from the town centre.

I will try to do such shops on a nice dry day. For now, though, I have more than enough.

Good morning all, no plans for today, just housework and perhaps a short walk.

Have a nice day all.

Morning all.

The first of my festive lunchesā€¦at the Toby today.

Good morning all.
Itā€™s cold out there.
As usual I expect that I shall accompany my daughter to Sainsburys later.
I donā€™t know yet what they are doing along my road, but they are setting up 3 way traffic lights.
This could be the excitement of the day.

Oh heck yes, roadworks! I wanted to go over the new bridge yesterday but was foiled, thanks to the road towards it being closed. Coming home I pondered at the roundabout, new bridge and go the long way round, or the old one, and hope traffic is behaving itself. Settled on the old and the only vehicle in front at the usually gridlocked lights was a bus, so thankfully not too bad.

Hoovered, showered, and sorted out what to wear for today. Red blouses, short and long, to get in the festive mood. Not had time to go out shopping for a new jumper. Might wear last yearā€™s one next week to the cafe lunch.

Itā€™s all go. Thankfully I might be alone at Christmas to calm down.

Morning all.

Back to the Hospital again today then.

Have a nice day all.

Good morning all.
It would seem that the traffic lights are a waste, as as I have been watching them, (I can see them out of my lounge window) and not many are taking any notice of them.
There is not a lot of traffic here, as one end of my road is blocked off.
So as it is Wednesday again, it will be the ageUK coffee and chat this morning.

Morning all.

Good luck Susie.

Returning the hire car today. Need to put a little bit of petrol in and also sweep the front foot wells of dirt and leaves.
