Chit Chat Thread (Part 2)

Good morning all.
Susie. I was thinking that you could have been right.
Today is the winter solace, (22nd) so maybe last night was the longest night. I am a bit confused now.
It is still a bit windy out but bright.
Friday. It could be the same old same old.
Lunch at Morrisons and a bit of shopping, then this evening dinner at my daughter’s.

No point asking me. I don’t even know when Christmas Day is!

Done housework. Hoovered downstairs, stairs and bedroom. Used my Flash speed mop to clean floors. Showered, then cleaned bedroom windows, frames and blinds.

Settled with a cuppa and a cranberry/pistachio biscuit. I popped in to the cafe on early dog walk and asked if she had any. Was given one with my lunch goodies on Tuesday as I didn’t want a mince pie, and it was gorgeous.

Shall have a relaxing afternoon, and join the mobs tomorrow, maybe in town.

Fence is coming on nicely, they got here at 9.10am, have just made them tea.

My Lady has also been to cut my toe nails.

Preparing dinner now.

That’s good Susie.

Fence all done

Looking good. Are you pleased with the work?

Good morning all, cold and windy outside.

Yes Janet, we are pleased with the fence, they got here at 9.10am and was finished by 1.30pm.

Getting the bus at 8am to go to Great Yarmouth, want to look around the Market.

Rob went to Tesco at 6am this morning and it was already packed solid, people with trolleys piled up to the top, I tell you they are mad!!

Have a nice day all.

Morning all.

Susie, I consider anyone going to a supermarket at 6am to be mad. I don’t see the point in it, myself. I went the other day, at a respectable time, and though it was busy it was nowhere near as bad as being in a London store. There, we had to deal with the traffic signals for getting out of the car park, and the sheer amount of vehicles on the roads, making exit take so long. I like ours here, Morrisons, Tesco, Asda, as I haven’t yet come across any road rage as such and we come out at roundabouts, not traffic lights that only let a few cars out.

One Christmas in London the Sainsburys was so bad for driving out, that I went upstairs to the cafe for a bit, to see if it would calm down.

Might go to Morrisons later this morning. I’ll report back what the retail park is like.

Good morning all.
My daughter and I went to Morrisons for lunch and a bit of shopping yesterday and although it was busy, but not as bad as I thought it would be.
When I went to my daughter’s for dinner, the traffic going south was really pilled up. Me going north it was ok.
Coming home later, it had cleared.
Later we will do our usual Saturday thing by going ‘up the mount’. Just browsing about and lunch at the usual restaurant.
This afternoon I have an invite for tea at the friend down the road.
Busy day eh?

My retail park was ok this morning. I left home at 9.30, and was leaving there about 11.45. There started to be a queue going into the car park. (I was in Lidl opposite).

It wasn’t madly busy and I shopped in four places.

Hi

I have just had a letter from National Grid.

Apparently there is an issue with the electrical supply to my house.

The only thing I can think of is the new smart meter installation.

They require an urgent visit to inspect their equipment.

They are closed now until after Christmas.

It is all a bit weird.

Hi everyone :grinning:. Just to wish all my Chit Chat friends a very happy Christmas. :mx_claus:t2:. It’s a long time since I posted but I still see posts on here as I was the original instigator of this thread. Hope you’re all keeping well and hope 2024 will be good for you all. :slightly_smiling_face:

Nice to see you on here, Joy. Yes, we’re keeping the thread active!

Merry Christmas to you.

Thank you Jazzi x

We get all our groceries delivered. Have done for a number of years now. Saves a great deal of time queuing up at checkouts, messing around in car parks and getting stuck in jams.

We even had it delivered in the sixties for a time - even though the shop was just at the end of the road. We used to cut up the large box and make it into a cardboard car.

Morning all.

Shall be popping round to younger sis this morning, before she goes off to her daughter. I have set an alarm on my phone, to remind me to ask for my key back. She had to borrow it recently when she’d mislaid hers, and found it in the car park of Sainsbury’s where she works. It had lain on the ground all night and all day where nobody had picked it up! I am seeing to her cats in the morning so will need it.

If the nearby Aldi is not too busy I will pop in there on the way home, just for a browse.

Not sure what to have for my main meal today.

Good morning all.

Hope everyone enjoys Christmas Eve and don’t get too drunk, myself I will be staying indoors with an Chinese Takeaway for dinner.

Merry Christmas tom you as well Joyce and to all my friends on here.

Have a nice day all.

Good morning all.
I have just come back from a walk. I did not go around the field as it has got quite muddy, so I just walked around the block
Yesterday coming home from from our outing, I got on a bus and as usual my daughter walks. The traffic was so bad that I only went one stop and got off. I caught up with my daughter and walked the rest of the way. We beat the bus that I would have been on.
I am not doing much else today so just let it happen.

Good to hear from you Cheshire Cat, I wondered what happened to you, but folks come and go and move on, but it’s good to hear that you are still looking in and enjoying life. All the very best for Christmas and the New Year from the Fox.
