Chit Chat Thread (Part 2)

Awww. However, she did ask other friends first but they weren’t around. As she and her neighbour don’t drive, I had offered in the past that they could call on me for emergencies, so I’m glad to have helped this time. She was shaking when with the vet, as she had got herself stressed. Especially when the hours went on after making the appointment at 9 am, and she had nobody to help her at the time.

Morning all, horrible weather here, wind and rain, so won’t be going out today.

Hope your friends dog will be ok.

Have a nice day all.

Good morning all.
Well done Jan. it’s good to be able to help people and friends in need.
It is really chucking it down at the moment. If it stops which I hope it does, then I can go out for my walk.
Yesterday was the same, but there was a brief dry spell, so I managed my walk.
I have my cleaning lady this morning.
And that is all I have planed for today.

Hi

Casserole is on a very low heat, it was going to be vegetarian, but found some sausage in the freezer, so that is in now.

I was going to start on the lounge carpet, but doing the veg for the casserole I decided my knives needed sharpening, so will soon start on that.

Good morning everybody.

I’m having a quiet day today. I plan on making a casserole for the freezer and maybe some lentil soup.

Daughter Sue is calling to see us this afternoon.

I had a nice day out with my friend Chris yesterday. I could almost believe I didn’t have the stoma as it was no trouble at all (touch wood)

I didn’t manage to eat all my meal but I ate most of it. Funny but I ordered a glass of rose’ and when I tasted it it was awful. I couldn’t drink it. There was nothing wrong with it - Chris drank all hers. Just another drink I’ve gone off! I also don’t fancy coffee anymore & I used to be addicted to it.

I wish my taste buds would go back to normal.

Have a good day all…

Carol good you are able to enjoy life and forget about the stoma, but a shame about losing your taste for stuff you liked. I’d feel the same if a I could no enjoy tea or coffee, or the occasional glass of wine.

Carol, just Googled sense of taste. The article hints it could be because of the anaesthetic, antibiotics and painkillers, but reckon after 6 weeks it should go back to normal. Maybe give it a bit longer.

Thanks Janet.
I was being pumped full of antibiotics all the while I was in hospital - also morphine, then there’s the anasthetic.

It makes sense that it will take a bit of time for my body to get on an even keel.
In the meantime my favourite drink is tonic water - I’m drinking loads…

Hi

Five past 3 and it is so dark the lighting has come on.

The rain and wind has eased but the sky is still very dark.

Great news Carol, you will soon feel back to normal.

Good morning all, much better weather this morning, I woke up to blue skies and sunshine.

Not going any special today, probably just for a walk.

Have a nice day all.

Good morning all.
It is cold out in this part of my world. Although blue patches of sky.
I just picked up another few sweet chestnuts from the back of my garden. I don’t really know what I am going to do with them.
Last year I took them to the AgeUK Wednesday group. But I don’t know what happened to them.
Today there is a ‘learn a musical instrument’ thing. I might go see what it is all about.

Morning all.

Very cold here.

My dad no longer wanted ordinary tea after his heart attacks and bypass surgery. From then on it was lemon tea only. I don’t even remember him drinking coffee.

Good morning all, its cold, but might be a nice day.

Off into Town at 8am.

Carol, have you tried drinking Mint Tea or Jasmine Green Tea? I drink Green Tea.

Having a Chinese for dinner tonight and Lentil Soup for lunch.

Have a nice day all.

Morning all.

Just started to rain here. Dammit. Will need to wait for it to stop for dog walk.

No plans yet.

Susie, I toyed with the idea of having Chinese last night but ended up with bread and jam. I do wish these places opened up lunchtimes, for those of us who don’t want a heavy meal in the evening.

Good morning all.
Raining here so my walk this morning is being put on hold for now.
As usual for Saturday, it’s laundry day, so that is being done.
I also have a bread being made in the bread maker.
My daughter arrived home at about 0800, so I expect I shall see her later. From a loverly hot Antiqua to this cold miserable Uk.

Me to Jazzi, i’d love to have to Chinese at lunchtime, instead got to wait until 5pm, so we are having soup for lunch.

I got soaked and cold, just got in.

You poor thing! I’m staying indoors till it stops, which should be around 3pm.

Roasties are in, but will leave the meal till about 3. I have beef slices.

Reading a library book. Nice and quiet for now.
